Nice hike I think it's the best in the park. Go's from the Bog to a high dune with beautiful view of Chicago on a clear day. The only disappointment is the nosey steel mill nearby very loud it spoils the whole experience.

Great long hike through the forest to the beach! Excellent any time of the year. Although the beach is next to a power plant it is still very clean.

One of a set of nice hikes in the Dunes area. I took away one star due to the beginning of the hike that is a service road which leads you around the local steel mill. That aside, the rest of the hike winds through wooded land and is both beautiful and quiet. Two nearly 100' inclines on the long loop make for good exercise.

Little parking lot on right side of Mineral Springs Road just before guard house. The hike is actually very easy and even the big dunes are not very difficult. Nice beach awaits at the end. Great place to enjoy nature.
