The work was fine and people were friendly enough, but after our insurance refused payment for some of the work needed, we were on the hook for a small (less than $150) balance. We were obviously frustrated, but our frustration was with our insurance company, not the shop. At least, it was until Crystal Lake Automotive refused to let us pay via debit/credit card, claiming they "have been burned in the past" with people cancelling checks or disputing payments. They required us to pay in cash. Too shady for our business. I will never again recommend or voluntarily network with a company that is so incredibly disrespectful to its patrons. Either accept cards or don't, but you don't get to pick and choose WHO you accept cards from.

Extremely poor experience. My car was brought in to have bumper damage fixed. Instead of replacing or painting the bumper to fix it; they decided to only put a clear coat over all of the scratches that you could see through the clear coat and refused to fix the bumper. Then their cheap clear coat started to peel like a cheap clear nail polish off of my bumper all over.

My vehicle was involved in a front end collision and my experience dealing with Crystal Lake Auto was first rate.  From the first phone call until the work was completed, everything ran quickly, efficiently, smoothly and the people at Crystal Lake made me feel like family.  They kept me updated on the work and when the work would be completed.   When I picked up the car it looked like brand new and it was clean inside and out, which was a pleasant surprise.  Check in and check out took just  a few minutes.  I would highly recommend Crystal Lake Auto to anyone that is in need of auto repairs.
