Great for our guests
We have worked for over 3 years with the Marina Inn. We bring guests from all over the world to Dana Point. The Marina Inn is, in many ways, perfect. Its unique location and neighborhood is just wonderful. You have a lovely area with great restaurants, shops and a nice beach within walking distance. 

The rooms are big and always clean. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast is just right. We are yet to have a guest complain. We have looked at many hotels in the area and the price you get for that standard is more than fair.

The people who run the Hotel are more than accommodating. They are helpful, understanding, and very flexible if needed.

We personally, can only recommend the Marina Inn. We are happy because we always know our guests will love what they offer.

We have been coming here for the last three years to the Pacific Paddle Board Games and we have loved our rooms. This year the room is HORRIBLE! Uncomfortable beds, dirty tile, bathroom sink caulk is cracked and ancient, closet doors are missing and the track is so dirty, door peep hole has a tissue glued inside of it. The front desk said they have no other rooms...this room is so bad. We are going to call other hotels nearby now to see if there are any openings.
In the past we have always been on the 1st floor this year we are on the 2nd floor...so if you decide to chance it here request the 1st floor!

Great place, hallway noise topical for hotel.
Nice for kids, has a pool. It is a good place as far as convenient to many wonderful places to eat too! Walking, exercise, biking..

The hotel was ok. My room was "updated" looked good and was really clean (stayed at a Super 8 the night before and it was gross). The staff was ok helpful. The near by beach was great for surfing but awful for anything else. It was very rocky but to be expected in it's area. I'd definitely stay here again.

Pro's: 
Best prices in the area
Each room has it's own A/C unit so you can adjust the temperature to your liking
Rooms were clean and tidy
Staff was friendly

Con's:
Elevator permit was 5 YEARS OUT OF DATE. Major safety issue. 
Hallways smell musty. 
There were loud people in the courtyard until 2AM+ on Friday and Saturday nights.
Breakfast was just OK.
WiFi was very slow due to all access points being on the same channel.

Bottom line: Next time I'd pay a little more to stay somewhere else.
