Loved the staff! They were really friendly and the owner(I'm assuming) would check on us every once in awhile to make sure everything tasted great, which it did. It is small but it definitely creates a cozy vibe for us, the only bad thing I had to say was that the other customers seemed to give us bad looks, which I'm guessing was because I brought my son(who slept the whole time there), but that had nothing to do with the staff or the restaurant itself.

I lived in Europe for almost 10 years and Dat's Italian is the most authentic Italian restaurant I've been to outside of The Boot. The ambiance is perfect and will make you feel like you've journeyed across the pond rather than down to Old Colorado City. The service is spot on; very knowledgeable and worth taking recommendations from. The gent, who you could obviously tell was personally invested in the family business, was pleasant, let us take out time, and provided advice on what tuned out to be two exceptional wines and matching entrees. I've sampled enough Lambrusco to float the Dante Alighieri around and must say, what I had at Dat's Italian was some of the finest. The same can be said for the Chianti which was clean, complex, and left you wanting one more sip each time. Both the lasagna and eggplant Parmesan were served in heaping portions and were not doubt, the finest to be had on the Front Range. Do yourself a favor and head over to OCC's hidden gem for an evening of international splendor. One last note: The tiramisu, don't even dare question if you want it.

I ate at this restaurant for the first time last week and can honestly tell you I will never eat there again. We walked in and were greeted by a guy with a "man bun" wearing tan jeans. There was only one other customer at a table, yet in spite of the place being practically empty it took 35 minutes to get our food. The man I was with went to the restroom and saw the cook microwaving our food. The fresh oregano on the lasagna was completely wilted and dried out. The roll was so hard it could have chipped a tooth. Our "waiter" never came back to check on us. Let me emphasize again that the place had only one other guest. Since when does it take 35 minutes to microwave anything? This place was horrible and the food was not good and cost $14 for a 1/2 order of Lasagna and a drink. Don't waste your time and money, this place is not what it is cracked up to be.

Sitting by the service window is agony, watching all the delicious food carted by while you wait for yours. Every dish was a work of art and everything we ordered was exactly what you want from Italian food. Like every Italian restaurant they say they'll make you feel like family. Unlike every other Italian restaurant, they follow through with that promise. The daughter and the father of this family owned place made me feel I was home from the second I sat down. 10 out of 10 will come back.

Coming through the doors you IMMEDIATELY catch the aroma of Italian food. We were just passing through ship we didn't have reservations. We had to wait for 30-40 minutes but the smell of the food and everyone leaving telling us how amazing the food was, kept the wait short. We were seated but due to a big party service took a while. Regardless the wait staff and the owner where the BEST!! When we got our food it was 100% worth the wait! From the appetizers to the main course to the desert it wad hands down the best Italian food i have ever had! The total experience was freaking awesome and I would recommend DAT's Italian to every one we know over and over again! This has to be the absolute best Italian restaurant I have ever been to!!!
