I'm a little "torn" on this one.  We went twice during our one-week stay in Old Colorado City. The first was fantastic even though there was a minor issue with one of the meals which was quickly corrected. Everything was very good especially the service. Second time... not so much.  Two of our 4 meals had to be sent back.  The other two were quite good.  Service was top notch both times.  The people here are obviously real pros at taking care of customers.   But food preparation, quality, and consistency seems to be an issue, at least based on our experience.  The second visit was on a Monday night and we suspect the "A Team" had the day off.

Gyro, potato wedges, hummus,  baklava cheesecake all verry flavorful!   Lovely atmosphere and the staff was happy. I will definitely be back! 
More importantly to myself was the cleanliness of the restroom (thank you!)  I have seen this restaurant for some time and it had always intrigued me and we never stopped,  but will surely return.

Today I received a very nice and authentic apology from the owner of this restaurant for sub par service that I am sure was just a bad day.  I have been coming to this restaurant for over 2 years and have loved every visit.  I truly think that the staff make the experience just as much as the food.  One this particular day however, the staff were not working in sync.   

I am glad to rate Jake and Telly's at 5 stars again because of the honesty and commitment of the owner.  I genuinely appreciate the fact that when a customer has an issue - it is quickly resolved.  I will be happy to come back to Jake and Telly's and enjoy some of the finest Greek food in Colorado Springs.

Be mindful that this cuisine is not for everyone. You will find some negative reviews on here from people that I believe just didn't have the palate for it. If your diet normally consists of nothing but hamburgers and pizza, this might not be your thing.

However if you love ethnic food, or Greek/Mediterranean food specifically, this is a great place to get an authentic experience in the Springs.

I would recommend going on an evening where the weather is nice out, so you can enjoy sitting on their over-sized 2nd floor patio.

Great wine selections as well.

Make sure you tell them you are first-timers as well, they might just get you a free shot of flaming ouzo (Greek moonshine)!!!

Food so good we over-ordered and were stuffed as servings are large..  Splitting a salad and lamb entree would have been better.  Service is always good, We plan a return visit with 6 others for a birthday feast.  That way we can order more dishes and share without overeating.  Slightly more expensive than my other favorite Greek, but worth the difference once in a while..
