I've had several interactions with Dave's Auto and all have been pleasant and positive. Dave and his team not only have the experience, but are trustworthy and transparent about cost and best next steps. I highly recommend!

The very first: a few years ago, I had my car towed there after hours, so I left a message. Dave looked at my car the next day and said he had seen problems like that before with the particular make/model; it wasn't worth fixing. He graciously did not charge me nor did he charge me for the couple days it was there before my dad could pick it up.

The most recent: I rolled my fairly new car in, not knowing what was wrong (the gears switched funny and I couldn't go over 35 mph). Since I was a walk-in, Dave honestly said he wasn't sure when he'd be able to get to it, to which I said was fine. At the end of the day, he called to let me know mice chewed through my wiring harness and kindly walked me through what to do for checking if my insurance covered it, and what the process would look like if they did. Fortunately, they did, and although I was without a car for a week, Dave took the time to set my expectations, make recommendations, and answer my questions.

I have been taking our cars here for over 3 years and wouldn't trust anyone else. They have saved us money a few times and are always honest with us and give a few different options for how to fix whatever is wrong with the cars. Definitely will keep going back if needed.

Dave's has ALWAYS taken excellent care of me. They make fair recommendations and don't try to sell you on something you don't need. Fair labor costs. Highly recommend them to anyone!

I couldn't be happier with the work I've had done at Dave's Auto! My car's transmission, from a 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Classic Collection convertible was in dire need of replacement or rebuilding. Estimates for replacement ran in the range of $5,000 on up.  Dave suggested they rebuild it instead since the case was good and their shop is one of the few in the area that actually rebuild transmissions with other service centers farming the job out to Dave's.

When I got it back, the transmission had NEVER been as smooth as it was after it was rebuilt!

But, that did not last, unfortunately. I brought it back and had them look at it and they found that a 'band' which is used in the shifting process had failed and that one of a higher level of 'performance' was a better option so, not only was the transmission totally rebuilt again but more so, the more expensive 'band' was installed, all under their warranty!

Dave said that the new 'band' might cause the transmission to be more 'stiff', which to me has somewhat of a negative connotation but after driving it, I'd say it was more 'crisp' than it had been when 'getting on it' when trying to merge into traffic when it is running at 70 mph and I'm starting from almost a standstill in comparison.

I'd definitely and have recommended Dave's to anyone I know who is looking for someone to service their car, and especially their car's transmission.

I've been taking my car to Dave's Auto for years. Dave and his staff are always friendly, helpful, and informative. It's hard to find a mechanic you can really trust, and Dave's Auto is 100% the real deal! Thanks Dave!
