Top notch value, expertise, service, and services offered from all of my past experiences. My wife and I both had purchased our wedding/engagement rings here with the utmost confidence, ease, and comfort. We had some custom work done on my wife’s engagement ring setting to make it just how we wanted it to be and it was perfect, prompt, and just a really great/unique option to have offered. I have also had them repair a necklace and etch/engrave a locket for me (a couple days before Christmas!). Both of which were done to my satisfaction! They’ve always been patient and willing to educate me if I had any questions. Great mom and pop type of establishment from what I’ve experienced.

Had father's old watch repaired. It was done on premise and turn around time was in the time frame they told us. They were friendly and courteous.

This is the place to go!  They have a great selection of quality, affordable jewlelry and watches.  They are expert in all types of watch repair and servicing.  Best of all, the customer service by these nice, friendly people is terrific.

Sadly, there is not much good I can say about this tiny shop.  

We first went to The Watchmaker to drop off my wife's grandmother's Hamilton to be tuned up.  We walked in, were quickly addressed by the staff and we dropped off the watch.  They told us they were busy and that it would take up to 30 days.  No worries, we were in no hurry.  They said they would call when the watch was ready.  

After we were taken care of we spent some time browsing the story and even ended up buying a watch that day.  Customer service was great.  Unfortunately, that is where the positive aspects of this review end.

We dropped the watch off in May 2012 (if memory serves me correctly).  30 days - nothing.  OK, no big deal, maybe they were just extra busy.  60 days - no phone calls.  You can see where this goes from here.  I believe it was well over 90 days before we got a phone call telling us the watch was done.  Then, like other reviews on here and elsewhere, we started to call.  Every month, sometimes more than once.  Leave a message, don't leave a message - it didn't matter.  They do not pick up their phone and they do not call you back.  Period.  This made for a frustrating experience to say the least.  

We do this for SEVERAL more months (by then we had left DE) and no reply.  In the end, because they would not pick up their phone we had to send a friend to drive up to Wilmington to pick the watch up and when he did, they acted like nothing was wrong.  We dropped the watch off in May 2012 and our friend was able to pick it up in March of 2013.  Almost 1 year for a simple tune up.  And yes, they did charge us full price even though they kept the watch hostage for 10 months and refused to communicate.  

From what I can tell, they tuned up the watch and it seems to be working fine.  That said, given the complete lack of communication by the shop I caution you to tread lightly when dropping off a watch for repairs.  Decent selection for a small shop, HORRIBLE customer service.  Sorry Watchmaker.
