What a gem in New Orleans. Truly has a speakeasy vibe, too. Love that it's "underground." A group and I went on a Saturday night, and the atmosphere was great. Live music in one room, not too packed or busy, and the bar was a little quieter, with great bartenders! They made some really great cocktails and were very welcoming people. I definitely plan on coming back whenever I can!
My wife and I visited Double Dealer shortly after opening on a Friday night. The atmosphere is unlike any place we have ever been. Such a cool place! To start, it is under the Orpheum theater. There are booths surrounding the bar which have curtains you can close for privacy. Additionally, there are buttons in the booths that alert your waiter/waitress on when you need to place an order. Some booths they can serve you directly from the bar through a drink opening. So cool! Highly recommend!
Very cool, ol' school speakeasy vibe. There was a lot of music, although, we was not a fan the act . Again, be sure to buy your own drink individually. They will not split that check.
This is a hidden gem downtown! I love the vibe...very chill. The setting is somewhat like a speakeasy mixed with burlesque. It's an upscale bar, sexy vibe. Drinks are good!!! They also give complimentary popcorn .Service was good as well.
Great cocktails in one of the few speakeasy-style bars in New Orleans. Highly recommend for date night or a cute friend night, especially if there is live music that evening. Aaron is a bearded drink angel!
Speakeasy that never disappoints. The red velvet curtains to provide privacy at a booth is perfection. The cocktails are fabulous and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and welcoming.
Fabulous experience! Anyone who appreciates the speakeasy era will definitely enjoy the atmosphere. Staff is too notch and cocktails were phenomenal. We will definitely be back!
Disgusting customer service , I was waiting at the bar for 20 minutes and the bartender finally gets to us just to tell us we were at the wrong end where it wasn’t a service area and we had to move and wait again. My problem was he seen us there the whole time , looked at us multiple times and didn’t tell us before hand . So then we wait again and we were ordering two drink and waters but we asked first for the waters and before we can ask for the drinks he refused to service us saying he had too many cocktails to make to give us water and that we needed to leave the bar! First off you have no idea how to work in the hospitality industry with that disgusting attitude and second , by law you can not refuse to serve someone water at a bar . If anything were to happen to us they would have been liable. I got upset and called him a name and they were more worried about that then correcting him. Of course I was upset I was dehydrated and just wanted some water and was refused and spoken to so rudely and told to leave the bar area all cause I asked for water. Finally a second manager comes the first one with long hair was atrocious trying to stand up for the bartender and he apologized and said the bartender was wrong and he’d speak to him. Another bartender did give me the waters before the managers came but I was just upset at the way we were spoken to and refused service that I still wanted to speak with a manager. If he can’t handle the pace that being a bartender requires then he shouldn’t be one .
A secret spot. We had a blast at this spot, great chilled place, good people but above the ambiance was amazing. I would sure go back there again if I ever visit this city again.
Love love love the little booths behind the bar. Such an intimate drinking experience. Definitely recommend for a quiet nightcap!
