Great jazz club with rotating seasoned musicians. Small and cozy place with good acoustic and chilled vibes. There is a burlesque show some nights too but I haven’t had a chance to attend one. They didn’t charge cover the night I went, though you should probably check. Our cocktails were decent and not over pricy. All in all, great jazz experience.
We had a BLAST. A real old school jazz experience. Quaint and cozy. The musicians were really good and the venue is set up in a way that allows for the audience to interact with the band. Drink prices are typical and they even have some absinthe mixed drinks on the menue. Total NOLA vibe, loved it!
Great place jazz club with rotating musicians which are legends. Cozy place with good acoustic. Owner - Kate - adds amazing welcome feeling and chilled vibes so you will want to come every night. Will be back
Please, please stop at Mahogany Jazz Hall if you're in New Orleans. I found it to be a very tasteful and classy venue. Took me back to a bygone Era. My group of 3 had a total of about 17 drinks and we spent about $320 - including a $100 dollar tip. The bartender Wade was charming, funny and earned the tip. I know several have posted that they are pushy with the drinks. That was definitely not my experience and I was there from about 930pm to 1am. I do agree that if you want front row seats arrive way before 930pm.
What a treat! Horns, burlesque, speak-easy ambiance. Great staff. They prefer to run tabs when the artists are performing - they'll hold your card for insurance. Small venue, get there early for a good seat. No cover charge - tips highly encouraged. Had to try the La Fee absinthe. Not my thing, too much like sambuca. That terrible anise flavour. But if it's your thing, they have a shelf of options.
We absolutely loved this place. Great cocktails. If you want absinthe they make it really well here and have a number of selections. Plus, we got to see Gerald French on drums. If you don't know him, he is a very well known jazz drummer. The supporting musicians were also great. Just a fantastic place. Highly recommended!
I had a great time! The jazz musicians are very talented. The waiters are quick to bring your drink and are always around. I went early, just before 8pm, when the band starts to play. If you like good music, nice people and good drinks, I'd definitely recommend this place.
This jazz hall has it all. An amazing hostess/owner Kate, wonderful bar tender Garland, and more musicians than you can shake a stick at. The drinks are top notch and everyone is super friendly. Don't waste your time on Bourbon Street, spend the evening here and you won't regret it.
Live Jazz every night and an excellent bar selection, but the real treat is their selection of Absinthe. I had the Toulouse Green, which was superb: smooth and with the right amount of that black licorice taste. Probably a good one if it's your first absinthe
This place was actually really good! Great drinks and music. They also have different nights with burlesque, jazz and other
