I went to him for treatment and he told me to "drink plenty of water, eat pretzels and potato chips". I have POTS, which calls for adequate hydration and an increase in sodium intake. He wasn't knowledgeable about this condition and discredited my previous diagnosis. I was in the room with him for about three minutes. He put me on a treadmill and my heart rate spun out of control and wouldn't stabilize. He sent me to the ER and never followed up. Didn't even show up after I was admitted and he was my assigned cardiologist. I tried to reschedule my appointment and his office was going to make me wait two weeks to see him again. My experience felt more like a business transaction than an actual doctor visit. Also, the staff is COMPLETELY incompetent and unprofessional.

The doctor himself seems knowledgeable, although there is no memory of the last visit or follow through with the treatment. Smart man, but he is treating the condition in front of him on a factory basis - how many patients can I see in a day so I can get paid. This attitude shows through in the staff as well. This is clearly a business more than it is a doctors office, which is a shame because the doctor actually seems to know what he is doing. After too many examples of this, together with long wait times and indifferent staff it was time to move on and try to find a doctor that cares more for his or her patients and less for moving as many people through the office as possible.

dr gould is one of the very few doctors i've met who are in the field for the right reasons. i have dealt with many, many doctors over the last several years, and dr gould is the only one i have now whom i started with nine years ago. if not for him, his staff, and his diligence, i would likely not be here today. (thanks, drs gould and sabbota, for all of your outstanding care over the years!)
