West New York, New Jersey's GO TO gym. The first of it's kind and all others are now cookie cutter gyms in that area or straight up bad copies with trolls who don't know squat about real training. Remember when choosing a workout spot to make yours long term, the people make the atmosphere. They are just as important if not more so than the gym, the price, the equipment and the staff. See Albert Gonzalez, a truly accredited personal trainer and guru, National Physique Committee judge, and a huge celebrity trainer. Did I mention he's also a great, personable guy? What you see is what you get. He also preps men and women with great success from the trophies and pics in the gym for bodybuilding and women's Physique and bikini shows.

The equipment could be better kept or upgraded, but there are plenty of plate weights, enough barbells, dumbbells up to 130lbs, many, many machines, and lots of ellipticals, bikes and stair climbing machines to use. Front desk and owners are accommodating and easy going. The gym rats are the worst though. Be prepared to deal with some of the worst and disgusting people and their attitudes.

Absolutely love this gym I haven't gone in months but this is my go to gym and the customer service is great.

It's a good gym in that it has more weight-lifting equipment than it does cardio equipment. The regulars here are all cool and sometimes go out of their way to help spot you or give advice on form. It also has private wifi. Upon signing up you also get a quick consultation with the staff on your diet and workout regimen, customizing both for the goals you want. There are a few negative aspects that you should be aware of: the facilities aren't the cleanest, the equipment isn't brand new, and you'll find a lot of little things wrong here and there. There's an annoying lack of weight clamps, the air can sometimes be too hot and thick during your workout, there are leaks almost every time it rains, and the owner is a bit of a douche. But you aren't going to a gym like this to give a f*** about any of that. You go to a gym like this if you want to be surrounded by people who are well into weight training and inspire you whether through feelings of inadequacy or inspiration to keep going. All in all better than Planet Fitness. For sure.

Great local gym for your weight lifting needs. The owners are extremely nice. The only downside is that there are people who are pretty disrespectful to the place. Spitting, throwing trash everywhere and don't bother put the weights back. I wish the owners would enforce this.
