They helped us last year and we were really happy because they took great care of our things. Their rates are really good. We seriously recommend them. Andrey and his crew are amazing.

Absolutely the worst! Untrustworthy! They lied about their moving quote and worked very slowly. We had a 1 bedroom apartment and it took 3 guys 5 hours to move us! Then, they broke couple of pieces of our very expensive furniture, covered it up very badly and lost/stole a whole box of our stuff. When I called to inquire about the damages, they said they will call back, but never did! Stay away!

Fairfax VA Movers did an exceptional job as our local movers last week. They moved us to our new home in nearby Burke in a single day. They were not only fast but also very careful at the same time. Great rate too.

Everyone we dealt with at Fairfax VA Movers were very friendly, polite and efficient - from the initial enquiry to the finish unloading our belongings. The movers on the day of the move arrived on time, were fast, well organized, and clearly experienced. Highly recommended, especially at such a competitive price.

OK, I think the only way to give a fair review is with the pros and the cons. I will also be up front and say I would highly recommend looking elsewhere to hire movers for your move. Pros: - They took great care wrapping and packaging my belongings. (Except my white couch, it was filthy) but nothing of mine was damaged - They were very courteous - They were very nice to my kids. - One of the three guys really hustled - He gave me a small discount in the surcharges because of the misunderstanding (more on that later) Cons: - Whoever I spoke with on the phone when I first called and inquired about prices was very misleading about the price structure. I asked specifically about large items and there was never a mention that there was a $50 surcharge for those items. It wasn't mentioned they will not move anything glass without it specifically being wrapped and in a box - which they want to charge you for. They also wouldn't move any wooden furniture without using a very specific tape that they charge for. I don't think the surcharges in and of themselves were unreasonable. What was unreasonable is asking specifically about additional charges and being given a deflective answer until the day of my move when it was too late to consider anyone else. - My move was scheduled for 9 AM. I was called the day before and asked if we could make it 9:30 AM. I said that was fine. I was called at 9:30 AM to say it would be 10:30 AM. - I was told when I called that any travel time would be billed to me by the hour. I asked the guy on the phone if he meant traveling from the old house to the new house, or if that meant something else. He said "yes". My understanding was that the travel time was from headquarters (located in my very same city) to the job, and from the old house to the new house. When The guys finally arrived, they had been subcontracted from somewhere in Maryland and I was charged for the hour of travel time it took for them to get from Maryland as well as the time in between the houses. - They hustled for the first 2 hours. The last couple hours of the loading portion every time I walked outside someone was taking a smoking break. - They tried to charge me for the 30 minute lunch break that they took - Once we arrived at the new house they took absolutely forever! I've seriously never seen people move slower than that. I understand they were tired. There were 3 appliances to move and they started with those. What I did not understand is why with the three appliances they never tried to use a dolly. They picked them up themselves. What a waste of their energy! A dolly would have saved so much time and energy for those guys. And they had a dolly with them! After moving The freezer, New washer, and old washer, they moved like snails. On more than one occasion I came outside to find all three of them sitting in my driveway -on the clock- smoking. All of that was on top of the multiple individual breaks they took. - At the very end, after discussing the total price (and arguing about removing the time they spent getting lunch for 30 minutes from my bill) I was told that if I could pay in cash there would be a 10% discount. I decided to go to the bank to pick up cash. Once I returned and pay them, the main guy then held out his hand and asked for a tip. I've used several moving companies in the past… I have never tipped anyone. I asked him what a standard tip would be. He said "typically about 10%" I said "10% each?" He nodded his head yes. There was no way I was paying each of these guys $80 on top of the almost $800 I spent to move from a 3 bedroom apartment to a 3 bed townhouse. (The estimate I was given was it should take between 4-6 hours typically… It took 8 hours) - In the end I felt like I was being shaken down for an additional 30% in tip money. When I explained I had no more cash to do even a small tip, they offered to run my credit card just for the tip alone. I declined.
