Fairmount Bicycles is a full-service bicycle shop in the Philadelphia area capable of tuning any machine, from vintage to modern. In business since 2010, our shop carries a selection of new and refurbished bicycles for commuting, touring, and entry-level road racing. You will also find accessories for every day and recreational use, from helmets, locks, and lights to racks, bags, and camping equipment. I have lived in the neighborhood for a little bit over a year. My wife and I use our bikes for local transportation and for adventures. I truly felt that the personnel at Fairmount Bicycles were professional , honest and priced very fairly. The experience that I had reinforced the reason I moved to this wonderful neighborhood. I felt that the service, pricing and courtesy given to my family was outstanding and I would highly recommend bringing your bike to this shop in the event you have any questions or need work performed. Wow, beautiful day in Philly for a bike ride. Just discovered Fairmount Bicycles, and what a treat! Showed up, and within 10 minutes I was riding along on a hybrid through the streets. Easy access to Boathouse Row, where you can ride upstream along the greenway, or downstream into Center City. I was apprehensive about renting, since I am, admittedly, a bit of a bike snob. That being said, the bike was great for bumpy city streets, handled well. Breaks were in excellent shape, wheels were trued, and the gears were crisp on the shift. No complaints! Staff at check in and check out were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. I'll be back next time I fly into Philly. Go for it!!!

I’ve been here a few times mostly with good results. After recently having a wheel trued, my rear derailer was knocked out of spec and wouldn’t shift properly. When I went back the following day to ask them to correct the issue they had caused, they charged me $10 for it. I was shocked that when I went to leave, I was asked to pay. I discussed with the employee (the one with the black dog) that it shifted smoothly before dropping it off. She told me she was charging me anyway, despite that I was buying a $90 helmet at the same time. After spending hundreds of dollars here, it’s a shame that I’ll have to go another shop. They are losing a lot of future business (i live 3 blocks away and own 3 bikes) over a $10 issue they caused.

Fairmount Bicycles are the kindest and most patient folks you could ever hope to meet, and it just so happens that they're certified cycle-Jedi as well. Wether it's the impeccably curated selection of products, or the masterful and speedy repair services you require, Fairmount Bicycles couldn't come with a higher recommendation from this veteran cyclist; there aren't enough stars.

I've been to this shop a few times, and they were helpful (yet pricey) and kind every other time. My most recent interaction, however, was negative- noting the pretentious man with whom I returned an item. It doesn't necessarily deter, but be mindful of their customer service.
