Brian and his team at both the Glenside, and University City locations were outstanding. From opening up conversation into buying what would be the most expensive bike I'd own, to leaving his store with a bike that fit and rode like a dream, I felt appreciated, listened to, and never once taken for a ride. The service department that built the bike, the sales staff that got me really excited to get out and ride, and Brian who made sure the bike fit me flawlessly all gave me reasons to come back time and time again. If you're looking to speak with someone who will listen to your needs, and then select good equipment just for you, look no further than the guys at Keswick.

I like that a clerk took the time to help me develop better strategies to avoid flats.

Immediately after I picked up my bike, less than an hour to be exact, I had my chain get sucked into the componentry, which looked like what is called a classic 'chainsuck'. In addition, the pedaling was off and each rotation didn't feel natural. This caused the drivetrain to not allow any back pedaling, so I obviously immediately hopped off to get the chain loose and prevent further damage. Unfortunately, at the very least, the paint and coating where the chain was taught against the frame left visible damage stripping away the paint. To say I was upset/dismayed is a bit of an understatement, especially since the bike wasn't even a day old, and I spent nearly 800 dollars on it. I now was concerned with the integrity of all the componentry, and that nothing was damaged as a result of the exerted pressure of the chain around everything. Disclaimer, I don't know a ton about bike parts such as part names or anything, but I like to learn/talk with mechanics and people who are knowledgeable to learn more myself. So I go to the back of the shop, where the mechanics are. I tell the first mechanic who helped me out what happened, and I go over my concerns and things that need to be adjusted/looked at. The mechanic who worked on my bike I have worked with before. If I get his name I will edit and place here. He is soft spoken but polite, blonde hair and explains things well for someone not well versed in bike lingo. Very good expierience with him, just like the handful of times over the last few years. Here is where five stars reflecting the total expierience become three: When I was explaining what happened again and inquiring about why this happened/how to mitigate this from happening again, a mechanic (who may very well be the store manager or owner, unsure. Will find out eventually. Has black hair and full beard.) overhears and jumps in. I accidently misspoke about something, and he jumped down my throat a second after. I said something along the lines of "I shifted to first gear down a hill for the first time, when this happened". I meant to say UP a hill, but I couldn't even correct myself. That irked me. I work evening shifts, so sometimes I'm tired and accidently misspeak! We are all human. In addition, his demeanor was that of little care or interest towards what happened or my concerns. There was the assumption that what happened was my fault, even though I didn't do anything to warrant what happened, especially to a day out brand new specialized bike. What bothers me most is the lack of basic hospitable treatment, especially for someone like myself who has been a loyal and repeat customer to only this bike shop for a handful of years. I've spent over 1K easily on my mountain bike and now this new purchase of another bike. Let's talk numbers. Those contributions add up to more than two weeks of an associates pay probably there. Yes, I am one customer and I won't break any place. But there should be a basic standard of how to treat customers (especially loyal repeat customers who also refer people to a location furthering their bottom line). More so even when you get something brand new and immediately something happens. Even if the mechanic/anyone isn't at fault, being apologetic and having empathy is expected. I work in the hospitality industry, and I know that if I didn't provide even basic/expected customer service, I literally could be terminated. Reading through other reviews, there appears to be a trend with just that. Where people, loyal customers, are taken aback by things like I mentioned. For any job, all personal issues should be left at the door when entering work especially involving contact with customers. Again, prices are reasonable, staff (namely Eric) and even mechanics are pleasant and extremely knowledgeable, there just should be more value/stock put in customers such as myself who have provided consistent business throughout the years. I do intend to continue my business. I'll update this review if anybody reaches out to me, or with any new information regarding future expieriences.

This is a great neighborhood shop, catering to the novice through advanced cyclist. I fall into the novice, but was quickly taken care of when I called for them to look at my bike that needed to be rideable and they made it rideable. They also were very forthcoming with cost, which is a lovely way to do business. And they didn't mind my 3 year old (who was infatuated with their automatic doors) riding his scooter in and saying hi everyday we walked by. He's a future cyclist, and investing in the future is good! Highly recommend!

Great service, and very knowledgeable. However, it is a tad pricy, perhaps due to the university's influences on rent and the neighborhood
