NP Lisa Brazil is fighting the good fight in the Near North Valley. It may be a wait, but what do you expect in an under funded mostly Medicare supported neighborhood health clinic.

Worst office to go to all they care about is charging you a co pay to just get test results read face to face. The staff that works there are very disrespectful and unprofessional. You have to wait an hour just to be seen when the office is not even that busy. I wouldn't recommend going here.

I have been going to Dr. Brazil for a couple of years now. In the beginning I really felt like she cared about her patients. But after having to go in several time and pay co-pay just for her to tell me everything was the same or that we needed to adjust my dosage, when a simple phone call could have done that. Seems to me like she is all about the money. And now with my last experience. I have diverticulitis and it is extremely painful. I have had Two episodes that have ended me up in the hospital, which Dr Brazil is aware of this. We have scheduled appointments with gastroenterologist to try and see what can be done. And both times in the emergency room they prescribed me two antibiotics and pain pills and that was the solution for the immediate Flare up. This last time I was out of town and was unable to see the doctor without going into an emergency Room. I felt the pain starting and knew exactly what was going on with my body I called to the pharmacist where I was and talk to him about the anabiotic's that was prescribed to me previously. They told me all I had to do was have Dr. Brazil call and authorize the prescriptions. I wasn't asking for any kind of pain medication just the anabiotic's so that I could start taking them and hopefully avoid going to the emergency room. When I asked dr. Brazil's assistant to have Dr. Brazil call me so that I could talk to her about getting this prescription called in it took approximately two hours before I got a return phone call and it was the assistant telling me that Dr. Brazil would not do that and I had to come in and see her before she could prescribe the antibiotics. Now I understand that if you take too much antibiotics your body can become immune to it. I also understand that there could be people out there just trying to get drugs to sell. But had she just given me a call and talk to me she would've realized that I wasn't one of those people and that she knew my symptoms but yet she couldn't take the time to do that and all she wanted me to do was come into the clinic. Needless to say two days later I ended up in the emergency room costing a lot more then an office visit which I would gladly have done had I been here in town. And they gave me the exact prescriptions I was asking her for. The doctor that saw me as well as several of the nurses could not understand why she would not of just called the prescription in for me. However I can, by calling in the prescription she wouldn't got that co-pay for my visit.
