The house is gorgeous and rooms are very clean and comfortable. I was really excited to stay here, it being my first time staying in a B and B and first time in Olympia. We arrived to realize that they had totally forgotten about the reservation I had made the previous week. Luckily the room I had booked was open and we stayed there, although we did not feel welcomed at all and were a little uncomfortable. There was no one around that evening or the next morning when we woke up. We were just about to head out the door when someone came and did not hide the surprise at seeing us. She offered us breakfast, which was delicious, but in the end I felt like I paid full price for a half price experience.

For ground project is quite interesting in its own right, but the guesthouse represents the vibe of the surrounding area. Quiet and clean accommodations backed up by a very real sense of community.

We have stayed at Fertile Ground Guesthouse 5 times in the past 4 years as our daughter has been attending The Evergreen State College. It is easy to walk to downtown Olympia to shop for tea and chocolate, to dine at restaurants and brewpubs or simply to walk. The farmers' market is not to be missed! The earthy decor and amazing community garden on the premises make the place incredibly inviting. The hosts are warm and engaging and quickly feel like longtime friends. Big breakfasts filled with fresh ingredients prepared and served with love keep us coming back!

Just enjoyed my fourth stay at Fertile Ground. No matter the season the garden is always full of beauty - and food. The home is charming and very comfortable and I have always been made to feel genuinely welcome. I tend to gravitate toward the big swing that hangs from the giant walnut tree in the backyard, but the second floor library is another favorite spot. Thanks again to the friendly and helpful hostesses. Breakfasts are great, too - healthy and delicious. I'll be back!
