Story

The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is located in the heart of the City of Folsom. Operating since 1963, the zoo sanctuary has been the home to hundreds of animals from squirrels and deer to tigers and bears.

Each year the zoo welcomes thousands of visitors in a simple and unassuming park like environment. With close to 100 animals and adjacent to Lions Park (featuring tables, BBQ’s and children’s play areas) and the Folsom Valley (mini-scale) Railway, not to mention City Hall, Dan Russell Arena, and the Folsom City Library, we know you and your family will enjoy your visit.

It's a sanctuary done up zoo style. Therefore it depends on who or what has been rescued what you see. Some animals have been there for years some pens are empty awaiting new inhabitants. Animals all seem well cared for. It only takes about 15 minutes to see everything. It's that small. If you want to see more than an aging coyote and a Shetland pony I suggest the Sacramento Zoo or the San Fransisco Zoo.

Small, very educational and fun. We got to see all the animals up close. It's just very hot during the summer months . So, you'll definitely need a backpack with lots of water and snack. Folsom City Zoo is well worth supporting. They rescue these beautiful animals and give them all a comfortable home.

Great price for the quality. Great size in my opinion. And half off Tuesdays is pretty great! (maybe just during summer?)--need to verify online.kids and adults loved it there. Train is to the right of the zoo and a huge playgrounds area to the left of the zoo. Great spot to spent lots of time!

This Zoo is small compared to Folsom's. Best part of this Zoo is the tigers and bears are our for the viewing most of the day. They seem to like all the attention. Folsom Zoo the giraffes are the best. Very nice place. Bathrooms are clean.

Nice place to go with family. We enjoyed the bears, and we realized how big they are in reality. There is this signage to see their size. My 10-month-old loves the zoo.
