We rented a log cabin for my daughter's 10th Birthday for her and a few friends. It was very fun and the cabin was nice. Bedding was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were old but kept up. The kitchen had a constant burning stove which made it smell like gas in the kitchen. We spent the day in the park riding bikes and enjoying the nature walks and beaches. All in all a great family place to stay.

I love this park. The cabins sleep six and they're less than $200/night. The are literally on the lake and are a perfect place to catch some amazing sunsets. We hike here, and the trails are nice. The walking isn't strenuous, so it's a good place to come with elderly family members or children. We've had some great nature sightings here: deer, owls, bald eagles, armadillos, jelly fish... There's just so much to see here. Totally worth $3/person for a days admission.

Beautiful park which is about 45 minutes from New Orleans. Right next to the river. It has hiking trails and a visitor center with historic artifacts. Staff are very friendly and easy going. Keep your food secured as the racoons are very active. We had one tear up a plastic container to get at our bread which we foolishly left outside. Coyotes can also be seen at night. Be sure to protect small pets.

This is one of those places right in our back yard worth seeing over and over. Nature that is accessible with plenty of photo opportunities. See the dragonfly?

This is an esthetically pleasing park, full of magnificent live oaks, beautiful scenery including lake and bayou views, lots of wildlife, especially birds and deer, and it adjoins the Tammany Trace biking/hiking trail. Great cabins and camping facilities, too. Just a wonderful place to spend a day, or preferably, a week!
