I want to say had I not had the opportunity to speak with the owner, I might have posted never never go here. The curb appeal left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately for this lady she had experienced floods last March, August then lost her husband in Nov. And after all that she struggles to rebuild yet one more time. She is working very hard so give her place a chance. Site was great size. Water electric sewer. $25 a night with Passport America. Wifi was iffy if you have old equipment. But my newer phone and tablet worked fine. Just no cable. Very quiet. Very dark but had lighting.

Nice sized family camping area. Read lots of negative reviews, which I did not agree with. Right next to a small lake, and the Tangipahoa river, it's a nice, quiet relaxing place to camp and fish. I recommend it for people with large RV's, or those who love primative camping.

We have been going there for about 4yrs and like to go primitive camping in the back. There was a place to go down to the river that was separate from the main beach area. On the weekend they always had a huge crowd of Mexican families that would pretty much take over. They have no boundaries and will set up 2ft. away from you. We recently tried to go again this 4th of July and it's even worse now. I don't mind sharing space, but this was RIDICULOUS!!! They had so many Mexican families there t hat there was barely any room to set up anything or enjoy yourself in the river. The other place in the back to get to the river was so overgrown with grass and mud that you couldn't get to the water. We were Very Disappointed. This use to be one of our favorite places, but now we'll have to find a new one. Can't imagine that the people who actually pay to keep their campers there full time can be very happy, considering we didn't see any of them at the river on the 4th of July.
