The fort was an absolutely fascinating experience, it is well kept and it is very neat to see all the history in the fort. It is a bit pricey to pay an entrance fee and then another fee to enter the fort. Overall a very nice and peaceful place.

Love this place and the history behind it. Very educational for children and even adults. The staff there's very friendly and know what their talking about. GREAT food and nice campground.

Even the drive into the park is a serene experience. The initial driveway is layered with countless oaks. You quickly realize there is so much to see and do as you pass one trail after another, then the campgrounds, and even more trails. The fort itself is located at a parking lot with the museum and visitor center that includes a gift shop and cafe. There's an additional fee to get into the fort, which is paid here. Once inside the fort, look for a park guide dressed in period clothing, or wander off on your own exploring the preserved fort. There are multiple buildings within the complex and walking paths that lead up to the cannons overlooking the beach. During my visit I loved there were not too many people and there were plenty of PokemonGO stops.

I must see if your on Amelia Island. The fort is so much fun and it's good to go on a hot day because it is cool in the brick tunnels. Staff is always fun and entertaining. The view of Cumberland Sound is breathtaking. Do not leave the Island without checking this place out.
