Most enjoyable State Park I have stayed at on my trip so far. I started in Maine and if not walked over 900 miles down the coast staying in state campgrounds. I really loved it here. The Fort itself was so interesting. I also really loved the camping. Having the water on all sides was so amazing and peaceful.

Really great campground. Great trails to wander and beautiful Spanish moss everywhere. Very quiet while we were there and everyone we met was friendly. Bathrooms and showers were good.

Fort McAllister was a reasonable price for the amenities included. We weren't expecting a hot shower and a heater in the bathrooms, so that was a nice surprise. The only downside was the firewood they sold was damp. Perhaps they could have put some tarp covering over it or something. Overall it was a great campsite with friendly and helpful staff.

This park is quite accommodating. Jason is just super. Also: it's pet-friendly! (As long as you're friendly to your pet.

Nice park equipped with playground, exercise machines, museum, and other facilities. Beautiful views of the water and a pier. The walking trail is closed for repair right now, looking forward to checking it out when repairs are completed.
