While there is no existing fort structure here, you can learn a lot about the historic fort Mose. It is an amazing story that is not told at the other St. Augustine historic forts. It is a beautiful park with lots of natural beauty to see. There is also a very nice museum detailing the history of Fort Mose and some Florida history as well. At certain times, there are interactive presentations where volunteers dressed in period accurate costumes to provide a first hand glimpse into life at the time the first existed. I would definitely recommend a visit here.

Experiencing the African Market while visiting Fort Mose was fun and informative! Meeting the drummers from Ivory Coast, Africa was fantastic!! After they performed for us we all had an informal jam! Luckily, I brought my djembe drum from Mali, Africa and fit right in. Dancing with everyone was a hoot as well! We also enjoyed unique shopping and wonderful cuisine from the vendors that were present.

This is a must see for history buffs. The museum staff member, Carl, was very knowledgeable about the slave trade and the history of Fort Mose. This was an excellent stop during our trip.

Peaceful place to enjoy nature. Today reenactors did a Spanish black powder demonstration. Very neat. Free to enjoy too!
