It's a great place, but I have a few suggestions. The tent sites with power are nice, but some of them are VERY close together. I really wanted more privacy during my stay. Having more space between the sites would be nice. The bathrooms could benefit from a different design. On the tent side, there are 3 bathrooms with showers, so if someone goes in one of them to use the shower and someone else needs to use the toilet, they must wait. A more useful design would be to have men's and women's restrooms with 6 stalls in each: 3 toilets and 3 showers, with sinks and mirrors opposite the stalls. The folks working the place were extremely nice, and the grounds are excellent. There is plenty of things for the kids to do like a nice playground and city-like fort. All-in-all, we would stay here again, but would seek a different tent site with more privacy.

We made reservations for a site that would accommodate our 24 foot with one slide travel trailer well in advance of our stay at end of June 2016. We ended up having to cancel our 1st night but stayed the remaining 3 nights on our reservation. We were charged a $10 cancellation fee for the night we cancelled even though we were told they rented our site for the night we cancelled. Our biggest issue was the site they gave us. It was narrow and difficult to back into due the narrow road, trees and sites across from it. Luckily there was another camper who drove an 18 wheeler before retirement and after a few tries he barely was able to get our trailer into the site. Our site had a drop off at the bottom of our steps so we had to be extremely careful not to fall down it getting in and out of our trailer. Our table area and sitting area were unusable to to their location and lack of shade. There were many nice campsites but despite our reservation made about a month advance of our stay we were given a site that should be reserved for a last minute one night stay. The bathrooms and showers were clean and the park was quiet and in a good location for exploring the area. There are many other campsites between Hills City and Custer that we will try when in that area again. This was a very disappointing stay.

This was a very nice campground. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The K-9 area was big enough for my German Shepherd to run around safely. The park was very shady with towering pines and beautiful smell of nature. The campground is located about the middle of everything tourist driving wise. So it was very convenient.
