My Aunt was in their care for one week. In that time she started to circle the drain. The nurses knew she needed to be transferred from their ICU to an acute ICU but the doctor refused the transfer simply stating "I think I can help her". When she was finally transferred one of the (very unprofessional) nurses told me she was in renal failure. Once she arrived at the acute ICU the Dr. there told us she wasn't sure why kindred would even mention renal failure. She showed no signs. However, kindred failed to catch a problem with her chest tube, blood clots that had formed in her arms and a blocked picc line. The ONLY good thing about their ICU was the night charge nurse, Kelly. All of the other nurses were very judgmental, lazy and unprofessional.

My fiance is currently admitted at Kindred South and from what I've been told by his family he is doing wonderfully. He is receiving the treatment he needs in order to recover.

This place is absolutely terrible.  The nursing staff are nice enough, but lazy.  A certain type of pain medicine was administered even after an order had been written into her chart not to do so because the nurse was too lazy to open the chart and read it. The doctors refused to communicate with family.  The patient case worker dealing with our mother and us lied to us on several occasions.  After transferring mother to a real hospital, she had blood clots in her lungs, legs and a severe urinary tract infection (catheter was left in too long without cleaning).  If you can, go elsewhere.  If you can't, watch your loved one closely.
