Great spot for something unusually usual.  They put a great spin on the classic grilled cheese.  From a preselected menu to a build your own they will have what you are craving.  They do have separate lunch and dinner menus and I will say dinner is my favorite.  It's also a great little space to meet up for drinks after work.

TOP GRILLED CHEESE!!

GCDC knows how to make a freaking good grilled cheese sandwich! Sandwiches come with tater tots on the side. Although some people brought kids with them, this place is geared towards adults. They have a full bar. I had a delicious drink with combo of vodka and Earl Grey tea. This location is small and there's a line on weekends.

This place really is awful.  If you want a good grilled cheese, make one at home.  We had the all-American...pretty sure they literally put craft singles and bacon on it.  Awful.  We also had a Reuben, also terrible.  The sauerkraut was way too sour and the sauce....was unusual...I can't put my finger on it, but it was not good.  Also ordered a tomato basil soup, not very good for the price paid.  Mostly tasted just like a tomato soup.  Would never recommend this place to anyone.  My co-worker also said the macaroni was terrible.

AMAZING! After a long, cold morning walking around DC, my boyfriend and I just wanted a beer, so we stopped in GCDC for a drink or two. What we found was much better than what we expected - a delightful server who made me confident in my sangria choice (tequila & rosé = yum!), loaded tots and the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had. I went for the smoked apple and Gouda and my bf went for the classic. SO GOOD! I wish I could bring this restaurant home with me!

I've had the Kim cheese steak and the Buffalo blue here.  Both were amazing, as were the staff.  This is an excellent lunch choice for folks near the White House craving some grilled, cheesy goodness.  The location size is kind of small, but tables tend to clear out quickly.  There got a small apartment if alcoholic beverages and a small bar behind the counter, so if you need a drink by lunch time, they've got you covered.
