We came in on a frigid day 11 degrees. The staff are overly kind and attendant. They want you to be calm and happy from the first pot of tea to the menus and their desire to assist in ordering exactly what your expecting. I was happily impressed with the quality of the ingredients. The chicken is all white meat the pepper and onions had their own unique flavors and the sweet and sour sauce was the right viscosity. The chicken wings are a must. They are devine.

The Mapo Tofu here was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food is so authentic that people bring guests from China there for a slice of home while they are in town visiting the capital city. Would certainly come again.

Nice food. Very popular in the DC area. Servers are curt but prompt. They have a wait during lunch so give a pre lunch 10% discount.

Probably best Sichuan place in DC. Super fast service, but may need to wait to get a seat. Try the Spicy Beef Noodle soup or the Beef in Hot Oil.

EXPECT SPICE: I'm not personally a fan of Chinese cuisine, but even I found this local restaurant worth the $20/person price tag. Sichuan pavilion is a surprisingly authentic taste of China's "spice capitol": Sichuan Province. While I've never been to the Sichuan Province of China, the friends who accompanied me told me that they felt like they were back in the spice capitol when eating.
The dishes are communal, parties order several and then take food from the plate and mix it in their personal rice bowls to eat. A neat social way to dine.
