Rest Area on hwy 5 in Wa for Truckers & Public. Signs suggest only 8 hours max. Bathrooms are clean! The Forest and paths thru it are quite beautiful. Plenty of shade from hot summer sun!! Its quiet in there and safe enough 2 catch a few winks if tired from driving. Gets pretty full in there at times, so best to show up early. Prime parking spots usually clear out of these type of Rest places by 10 am, Ive noticed, if you are driving the length of Washington State. Sometimes, they have coffee, hot chocolate and tea & cookies at the window... BONUS Note 4 All concerned: Highway 90 & Hwy 20 in Washington State DO *NOT HAVE any public BATHROOMS OR REST AREAS along their lengths...!! (YIKES) Also 2 include that hwy 101 in Washington as well !! I cannot 4 the life of me, figure out *WHY they do this, except to torture the hapless tourist who happens to stumble onto these roads in search of some scenic viewing & exploring. JUST DONT; cos it is hour upon hour of long, winding roads that extend on for most of the day...extremely painful experience!! Word 2 the Wiser..

Great place to go car camping. We went with the boy scouts and camped for 2 nights. Well maintained and clean. Bath house had hot water for showers. There is a boat ramp to hiawassee river. We rafted out of Reliance tn to this ramp. If you are kayaking it is a bit hard to spot though. Camp sites has a fire pit and picnic table included. Peaceful place to camp.

This place is great during the week. On the weekends it is BUSY! Normally if you haven't made a reservation by Thursday you won't be camping there. Gun range down the road is decent and having the creek so close is good during the warmer months.

Nice park area and campground. It even has restroom facilities with warm showers. The rangers do a decent job of keeping them stocked and cleaned as well. Lots of places to hike, tube or kayak in the surrounding area.

Excellent playground and the Rangers brought out some snakes that we got to pet
