This was an amusing experience. It is a shall and very specialized collection of items from the great old west. For a fee you can peruse as you like and as long as you should like through the museum. The longest that this could take is about an hour. They have a lovely gift shop with fair prices and paying is free on premises. Wheelchair and kid friendly.

The person below who said there's nothing at all interactive obviously didn't bother looking around at all. This place is AWESOME! There's a beautiful old player piano as soon as you walk into the museum, with two more to find in the recreated buildings, along with about a dozen beautiful old stereoscopes and old style phones with party line recordings. The rooms are lovingly recreated with authentic artifacts and antiques and signs explaining what everything is. Gold panning wasn't anything to get hyped up for, but if you go into it expecting the mother lode you're doing it wrong. The gift shop has a great selection as well. Would absolutely go back!

This is such an interesting museum! My kids (ages 3 & 5) were a little bored, but my husband and I loved it. Had it not been for restless children, we could've stayed much longer than we did in order to really discover all the artifacts. The owners have have done an incredible job setting up this old town that feels like you are stepping back in time. We enjoyed the interactive parts and the commentary. It's nice that it's mostly all indoors since it was pouring rain. Unfortunately, because of the rain, the kid's mining section was closed, but still a great time! Don't miss this place!

I was visiting a friend that has lived in Colorado Springs for a while. He had never been there, and since I wanted to go, seem to begrudgingly go along. We both ended up being very impressed. It was much more than either one of us expected. Very extensive, elaborate, greatly detailed, and well-thought-out displays of life during that era. An awful lot to look at and do if you take the time to slow down and really look at the displays. A really unexpected and delightful treat.

My Husband and I loved it! It is kind of small but I love old stuff and it was so very interesting to look at everything. Neat gift shop with very reasonable prices! I would agree with other reviewers on the following points: (1.) Bring lots of quarters to keep your kids entertained. (2.) And yes, You can't go more than a few feet inside most of the exhibits/ rooms because they have very old fragile artifacts in there and some people don't take care of stuff or supervise their children properly. So in order to preserve history and the authenticity of the museum, certain historical artifacts need to be off limits to the vast majority of us. (3.) It's a really wonderful place and definitely worth the price!
