Gold's Gym in Jacksonville - 24 hour fitness is a safe, secure facility where you can exercise around the clock every day of the year. Our facility includes amenities such as tanning, child care, Zumba, Turbo-kick, yoga, step aerobics, cycling, and toning classes. In addition, every member deserves to have the knowledge of how to operate our equipment. We offer two free personal training sessions to kickstart your program. If you are like many members and need further assistance, personal training is available

They're charging premium prices for a less than average gym.  No pool, no basketball court no sauna. Go to another Gold’s gym and they’re plush! Latest and greatest equipment /facility. This building is old and the parking sucks. I paid the same price at 24hr fitness in California that offered EVERYTHING and was twice as big. In my opinion I believe the owner is taking advantage of the Military base knowing Marines who live off base wouldn't want to travel all the way to base to workout. At the end of the day when you monopolize the area you can charge what you want. Sucks to suck

Despite having read some reviews that raised concerns, I just finished my first workout at this gym after buying a membership for 3 main reasons: 1. My son is safe and secure behind 2 locked doors- members can get in through the main door with their barcode, and only parents can go in the child care area which is behind a locked door. The child care area is also monitored and I can see my little guy in the main workout area on one of the screens if I want to check and see how he’s doing. The child care room is also bigger than I thought it would be, and the little movie room they have is awesome. When I came in to get my kiddo today almost all of the kids were coloring together and very happy. The gals I met and talked to about the emergency procedures were so professional and it made me very happy! 2. I got a better deal price wise at this gym which is awesome considering I checked out two places that offer child care. 3. Cardio equipment is brand new and the other equipment seems pretty nice so far and in working condition- the manager (Danny I believe his name is) thanked me for coming in, and Will was great about answering any questions I had, and was very professional in communicating with other customers including myself.

Went in on 18 Jan 2018 when all the base gyms were closed due to "hazardous weather." Tried using the free day pass as I'm not a frequent Golds Gym goer. Understandably, they did not allow the free pass but instead required a $15 day pass. This is understandable as they need to run a business and they're the only gym open however; upon entering the gym, the only thing that says this is a small fine print sign on a table adjacent to the main desk. This table was being used by other people and therefore could not be seen. Again, no harm no foul.

The thing that made me turn my back and forego a good workout for running in cold weather was the customer service. One of the employees (I believe had dark hair and a peppered beard) ushered me over to the main desk to check me in. As I present my phone to him to show him the email with the free pass (which, again, I did not know they weren't accepting) he says "oh. Great. More reading material. Here. I have some reading material for you, too." Then points at the sign with the fine print that people were blocking, causing me to usher through other patrons just to read.  

I asked why he couldn't have just said that vise being a dick about it which is when the other employee stepped in and explained, thoroughly and professionally. I said thanks but with the way the previous employee acted, I'd rather not spend money here.  

Customer service goes a long way. It set's a precedence. These guys did not do a good job doing that.  

Take your money elsewhere.

Feel like I got robbed after I paid a $100 joining fee for a $60 a month membership (including child care) wouldn’t even let my wife come workout for her day off because they think the week free pass is “not fair to paying customers”. I paid $65 at an LA Fitness for myself, wife, and child care. That place had a  basketball court and a large pool. This place does not. They are taking advantage of themselves being one of the only large gyms in the area and scamming everyone out of their money.

Terrible impression and representation for a franchise. Customer service was extremely poor and even rude. Walked in with the intention of signing up and was turned away after my interaction with the staff, and experiencing the facilities. Equipment isn’t well maintained and it smells like the gym is not cleaned regularly, or rather at all. Disappointed this is the local representation of Gold’s Gym.
