They updated the decor and menu a couple months ago. Shrimp and cauliflower grits was better before. Bland and lacking flavor ( maybe just a bad night). Rib appetizer was great. Next time will order 2 of those as my meal. Service was slow. Have found this to be normal here so don't be in a hurry. They have tried to build in some sound diffuser but all the hard surface still make the room noiser than our table liked. All over a nice change over the normal chain restaurants I just wish they could just tweak a little more.

My wife and I went to Gospel Bird on 04-13-18. She'd been once before and I was trying it out for the first time. We ordered fried green tomatoes and short rib spring rolls as appetizers. Both were good but not great. For the entrees, she ordered the Spanish octopus puttanesca and I the truffle pork tenderloin. She enjoyed her dinner, but this was the pork I received. It was flat out raw, and as everyone knows, you NEVER undercook pork. The rest of the dish was great, but I'm not eating raw pork. I want this to be a learning experience for the cooks, and not something to hurt the restaurant. With that being said, I will personally never return.

It's got a great, casual atmosphere. A great place for a date! The bartender knows what he's doing. The cocktails are delicious and are obviously made with great ingredients. The food is super good. Very nice size portions.

Fantastic service! Chicken and Hoe Cakes were amazing!! The sauces were very well thought out and really complimented the meals with just the right amount. The chef really did his homework. I have never really liked bread pudding...guess I've never had it done right because the Apple Bread Pudding was heaven!! Very eclectic place. I highly recommend the Gospel Bird!!!
