This place is wonderful!!!! Highly highly recommend it. My daughter is vegan for medical reasons, but my husband and son eat meat. We ALL loved the food, the environment is wonderful, the staff is amazing! They had vegan cupcakes that tasted like heaven!

I've been here three times at The Pearl in San Antonio... Twice in one week. I've been a vegetarian for well over 30 years and I am extremely impressed. The food is EXCELLENT! Service was great.. Highly Recommend this Place.. Think Deluxe Nachos and a Big Nasty.. Yummmmm!

The food here is delicious, no matter what you get. Their tofu bowl is one of their most picked items and it is great. You can customize your dish to your liking. They have outdoors seating as well, which is a great option on beautiful sunny days. Their staff is super friendly and attentive.

Full disclosure: I’m a meat-eater, and I didn’t have high expectations going in. However, I promised my Mom a trip here, (she is on-again off-again vegan) So I was prepared to keep an open mind and a positive attitude. The inside of the restaurant is inviting and has a trendy urban feel. I ordered the Big Nasty” sandwich, their version of a veggie burger, w/ sweet potato fries, and also ordered an extra side of fried pickles- to make sure I wouldn’t be going hungry. Every menu item here surprised me. The fried pickles were battered and rolled in panko which sounded really yummy, but when they came out I realized they deep -fry the entire spear, so there’s not a whole lot of that delicious coating. They tasted like warm pickle spears.. I only ate 2. Didn’t love em. The sweet potato fries were obviously left over from the lunch rush, tasted old, and looked overly brown probably from being under a heat lamp for too long. The seasoning on them was good though. Had they been fresh I bet they would have been amazing. The shocker was that the burger was the best thing, and also enormous! We also ordered cupcakes for desert. Although our server raved about how the baker comes in to make em fresh each morning - this was a total disappointment because the cupcake I had tasted stale and hard. On the service side, our server was eager to please and had a very nice demeanor, but the odd way that that I found myself competing for his attention with his cleaning duties - (he was busy scrubbing the walls and other tables) and mostly in the kitchen and not in or around the dining room, left me feeling kind of neglected especially since there was only one other couple in the entire restaurant. At the end of the meal we waited what seemed like forever and I finally walked to the kitchen to ask for the check- pretty sure they had forgotten we were there. Final verdict, the sandwich was good but not $50 good. Yep for just 2 sandwiches, an extra side of pickles, 1 iced tea and 2 cupcakes the bill was $50.
