It was a good and interesting trip. Wish that they had more wax figures. Also it was hot in certain parts of the building...even though they tried to cool it off. ..it was hot because the building was vandalized.. other that it was a great experience. Keep up the good work.

Very insightful! Although the inside of the building seems small, it is packed with a lot of knowledge and inspiration! I would totally visit again.

Educational. My children and I visited this. I enjoyed the way they had the task of completing questions along the way. My high schooler and middle school kid enjoyed it. Clean and professional.

This museum is absolutely awesome. I was blown away and literally had tears in my eyes as I walked through the museum reading the stories on all of the African Americans throughout the museum. With life size wax figures of each person featured, what more can you ask for. The self-guided tour starts with a 60 minute video called the middle passage and tells the story of what happened to slaves traveling on slave ships. You're not obligated to watch the entire film, but I did because it gives you a great depiction on what happened to slaves. There is so much to learn and see within this museum from the slave ship replica to the actual slave home within the museum, that you can step inside and view. It's a must see for young and old alike. Please take the time to take your children, family and friends to this museum. You will not regret it. They also give you a little scavenger hunt questionnaire to fill out on questions about exhibits within the museum. The cost is $7.50 for adults, and I believe around $3.50 for kids. Take the time to go and take history with you as you leave. I had to leave and couldn't stay but you can easily spend about 4 to 5 hours in this museum. I left inspired and definitely plan to visit this museum again in the future.

Excellent experience. Informative and well worth it. Check Groupon for a good deal. Ms. Delaney is a gem.
