Story

Saint Louis University's Museum of Contemporary Religious Art (MOCRA) is the world's first interfaith museum of contemporary art that engages religious and spiritual themes. MOCRA is dedicated to the ongoing dialogue between contemporary artists and the world's faith traditions, and to serving as a forum for interfaith understanding. In a time when religion is viewed by many in exclusive ways, MOCRA intends to be inclusive and embracing, a center for healing and reconciliation. This page is administered by David Brinker, MOCRA Assistant Director.

There are few places like this in the world. You can tell that the curator has great depth, and is always able to put together something extraordinary, profound, and tremendously enjoyable. I've seen people there last on the floor smiling for an exhibit of silver clouds. I've seem people tear up at the suffering conveyed by some pieces, and I've seen people slow down to the point of connecting with God. I can't recommend this gem highly enough. Please ask for a tour.

Small free museum hidden right in the middle of the SLU campus. Currently closed, but they have rotating exhibits. Friendly staff.

A great place for a date as it's free and the exhibits change throughout the year.
