I went to Guitar Center on Saturday morning looking for a new electric bass. I arrived around 10:30am, thirty minutes after the store opened. I stood in the bass section for a good 20 minutes eyeballing the 30 or so basses on display. A few employees seemed to be walking between the front of the store and the acoustic section but never stopped to help me. Finally, after 30 minutes, I asked a person if someone could assist me. Another 15 minutes passed and no one came to help. The reality is I only needed someone to pull a few basses off the high section. I was seriously prepared to purchase a bass that day. Disappointed they did not have any 4-string Ernie Ball Stingrays but they did have a nice Cutlass (maybe a Caprice) on sale. Since there are no other music shops in the area that stock decent bass guitars (selection at Watermelon in Davis is a slim), I guess I'll be heading to Bananas at Large in Marin. Sad.

Excellent source for guitar strings and great selection of picks. Shelves are stocked. Good for quick shopping visits and prices are comparable to Amazon. Friendly staff helps with questions.

Took forever to get help. Totally reworked drum the department. New look. Less inventory. And no one at the drum department was a drummer. 4 guys. No clue. Sad. I used to look forward to buying here.

I enjoy coming back to this business. They meet my expectations in terms of the customer service as well as the prices. So far I got a Yamaha F325d set, and 2 ukuleles from this business, and I plan to come back to get an electric guitar set. They literally meet all my expectations.

I only give this place 3 stars because of the customer service at checkout. The person helping me check out at the register walked away twice to help someone that had just walked in the door. I stood in line for 20 minutes and then they walked away when I got to the register... Twice! Their products are great but their customer service leaves a bit to be desired
