I got 4 bids on a full tear-off new asphalt shingled roof for my house. These guys were the lowest price, had the best warranty, had a great selection of shingles and really inspired my confidence compared to the other 3 companies (who were all top named roofers in the area). I found H and B through Google and the other companies through Google and friend recommendations. H and B's estimator has over 30 years experience as a roofer and compared to the other estimators he was fast, on time, efficient and really made me feel he knew what he was doing and that the company would deliver quality work which they did. My roof looks great and the clean up was perfect. Dave, the GM, was always reachable by phone for all my new homebuyer/roofbuyer questions.

I agree that some of these reviews are fake or influenced by the company. H&B roofing was contracted by an extremely professional roofing contractor that we hired for replacing our single family asphalt shingle roof. Our roof was the first job H&B did for our contractor and the results were abysmal. Aside from damaging our exterior siding in several places and trying to cover up these mistakes by gluing the siding back to the house, the roofers walked off the roof/job without completing the job. They insisted we sign the "job complete to satisfaction" paperwork on the spot prior to the completion of the job (they quoted a few more hours to finish when they handed me the paperwork). Extremely glad we insisted on waiting to sign. We didn't like the appearance of the roof from the street - the roof appeared to have "bubbles" in it and the top looked uneven or incomplete. We decided to climb up to have a closer look and found that they had not finished shingling! They left several places un-shingled, placed several destroyed/cracked shingles, placed flashing that they bent back instead of cutting flush with the house, and even left unused shingles piled on the roof (along side nails and tar strip backings - minor issue). I am astonished that anyone can walk off a job that is clearly not done and feel satisfied enough with their effort to demand us to sign a contract stating we are satisfied or to think that we would be satisfied. Overall, extremely un-professional. I was so dissapointed that I have now written my first ever review of a product. Fortunately, the primary contracting company is dealing with bringing our roof to a satisfactory state. If we had hired H&B directly, the roof they put on our single family home in Seattle would have decreased the value of our house.

Had a situation with them, found out the business is ran out of an attic of a house. When you google h&b roofing the location is a house. In the picture you walk up to the business in the attic from the right side that has wooden stairs. Don't believe me use Google maps and drive there yourself.

Estimator for H&B came by our house and did the estimate along with several other estimators. I received all my other estimates in writing and/or email. H&B left a phone message saying they wanted to set up a meeting to discuss the estimate. I work 60 hours + and I'm in the National Guard as well. I am very busy. I want to see all the written estimates in front of me first so I can get an idea of what was being presented to me before spending time on a sales meeting. I sent an email requesting a written estimate prior to a meeting. I never received an answer. Needless to say H&B will no longer be in consideration for our dollars. As a customer I expect the company to be flexible in responding to my preferences, not the other way around. Doesn't bode well for how the job would go down the road. Sorry, but I can't recommend this company based on my experience. ------ H&B responded to the comment above by providing me with a written estimate via email. However, I also received a voice mail that defended their business plan in this regard. I can understand why a company would want the meeting face-to-face in order to have more of a chance to secure the business. But its not the standard practice. And if a customer asks for a written estimate they should provide one instead of the company insisting that they are right. It went so far as to say that they spent money on sending an esimator so they should have the right to present the plan on their terms. Sorry, but an estimator is a salesman, he's paid to build the business. Clients don't pay companies to have salesmen visit them. The phone message should have been short and simple, "I'm sorry, we should have immediately provided that to you once we knew that was your preference and then followed up with a meeting at your convenience. We corrected that error and we hope to work with you on this project. If you any questions please call or email us."

We had a small leak in our garage roof, and found that H&B Roofing had the best reviews online. We left a message for them on Wednesday night, and got a call back the very next morning. As we work during the day, we often have to let contractors access our place while we are gone to look things over. Austin came out on that same Saturday to make sure he could go over everything with us there. He inspected our whole roof, inside and out, for free, got us a very reasonable estimate on our leak, explained what needed to be done and even gave us some tips on a few things unrelated to roofing. The crew came out two days later, while we were at work. Austin called us that afternoon to let us know that everything had been done, and that the crew had even put in some extra work to make sure the job was done right, at no extra cost. We would highly recommend these guys. They are fast, reliable, professional and, accommodating.
