Story

The commencement of HairWaves longevity in the Philadelphia area began with an idea set by Wendy Haws Neuhoff. Wendy was trained at Gordon Phillips Beauty School and later received her Cosmetology License in 1969; 23 years later HairWaves was born November of 1992 in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania. HairWaves developed into what is today by starting out as a salon for locals to walk-in for an on-the-go haircut, style, or color. The legacy of HairWaves would later be passed on to Wendy’s youngest, Cory Haws Neuhoff.

Cory Haws Neuhoff grew up a Philadelphia native on the main line before his parents moved to a neighborhood outside of Tampa, Florida and then later on Glenmoore, Pennsylvania. Cory graduated from Owen J. Roberts High School in 1997, shortly after he began his Undergraduate studies at Lock Haven University to pursuit a degree in chemistry. Cory finished his studies at Lock Haven University in 2001 to pursue his passion of the arts when he decided to enroll at the Art Institute of Philadelphia in Center City. Then in 2003 Cory finally decided on the career that he felt was right for him and grew up in, cosmetology. In 2004, Cory Haws Neuhoff graduated from Empire Beauty School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Just one short year later in 2005 at the age of 25 years old Cory bought the business from his mother Wendy Neuhoff after 13 years of providing the friendliest and affordable hair styling to the community.

Since Cory has taken over at HairWaves, its clientele has been introduced to some of the most high-end and exclusive European products in the hair industry. Cory quickly became recognized as a master colorist and has been certified by Moroccanoil and Framesi since. HairWaves continued success grew into an expansion when Cory decided to open a new bigger location in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania in February of 2011.

HairWaves third longest tenured staff member, Giuliano Alexander, joined the HairWaves team in March of 2007 as Cory’s assistant. Giuliano, like Cory, graduated from Owen J. Roberts High School in 2008 to then go on to West Chester University of Pennsylvania to study Finance and Accounting. In 2011, Giuliano unfortunately left the HairWaves family to pursue a career in Secondary Education. Then in May of 2013 Giuliano received his Bachelor of Arts degree for Social Studies in Secondary Education. Following his graduation Giuliano returned to HairWaves in August of 2013 to take on his new roll as Salon Manager.
