Had a great time this past weekend, the Cottage was beyond nice. Kayaking, fishing, hiking and even miniature golf. Recommend going to Rutledge and stop by Yesterdays Restaurant, the food is fresh, made to order and tastes great!!

We visited here in the summer and spent about 4 hrs and went swimming at the little beach. It was not too crowded. There are restrooms here and outside showers to rinse off after swimming. We did a little fishing and i caught a 3 1/2 lb.catfish without hardly any effort. The kids enjoyed the fishing & play areas. I would suggest going when you could spend the day. They also have cookout areas & grills if you want that too. Theyc also have cottage rentals.

We camped here with a tent at a Pioneer site & it had amazing views. The kids loved running and playing in the trees. My daughter was NOT a fan of the outhouse :P I've also visited for a family reunion in the cottage area. The cottages are comfortable and have all the amenities you could wish for.

Good state park for families and a short trip from Atlanta, there is a lake with kayaks, decent cabins some are handicap accessible. The only downside is cell service is limited to none for Verizon and no cell service for AT&T. Depending on your reason for going on vacation, this may be a positive and allow you to disconnect for the weekend

I love this course so the 5 stars is a reflection of my normal experience at HLC. The staff is friendly, the course is challenging and usually in good shape, and it's reasonably priced. Right now though they've got some construction going on that you have to work around. The improvements will no doubt have it back to a five before long so I'm keeping my "5" on it.
