This location is one of the most unprofessional and disorganized locations I have had the displeasure of renting from. The first occasion I had to rent from them due to what was covered under my car insurance. The first car that was given to me was in awful shape. I had the car for a total of three days with minimum mileage put on on my end, when one of the rear tires blew out. When we changed it to the spare, we realized the car they had sent me out on the road with had tires so bare, the wires under the rubber were showing through. When I went in the following morning to get a replacement vehicle, I was made to stand outside the lobby door until exactly 7:30 am ( I arrived there just before 7:30). There was no apology for putting me in a vehicle that could have killed me or any remorse for the difficulty they put me through or the fact that due to their negligence I was two hours late to work that morning. The second time I was not the person renting, but my boyfriend was. We had no problems initially with the rental, but upon returning the car a day early, they NEVER checked the vehicle back in and we were still being billed for it a week later. I don’t know if this is an issue with all Hertz rentals or just this particular location, but I will not be a returning customer.

I was in an accident. Insurance company sent me from NJ to Wilmington Delaware to pick up a reserved truck. When I got there they had nothing and there were 3 people in front of me waiting on a car. I was told to drive to New Castle to a different Hertz location because they had a car. When I got there there was someone else waiting to rent that car... I did get the car but I was in Delaware dealing with this from 8am untill 3pm..... Grrrrr.

My car was in a accident so I had to get a car thru the other person insurance. So I never deal with Hertz always Avis or Enterprise. So this was a first and the LAST. So the insurance agency made the reservation online and sent me confirmation, and I also called the 1800# for Hertz and made reservation thru them to have me picked up from home. So I waited and waited for a pick up and nothing. I called Hertz (Newark) and the girl at the front counter said they never got a reservation. So now they are renting out cars and running out of cars had me sitting there waiting for a car. After a while finally got a car but not the size I was told. On returning the car I left something in the trunk, I called the next day to say what it was the guy had me on hold the for an half hour. I hung up called back got a women explained it to her she put me on the phone with the gentleman whom said they checked the car but nothing, then he goes to say they didn’t check the car and the car was not there it was rented and he will check when the car returns. We all know how that is going to end. “Yes it will be gone”... But in all I WILL NEVER RENT FROM HERTZ IN NEWARK/WILMINGTON AREA.. Worst experience last experience.
