I love the family friendly environment. Came here because I saw this restaurant on the Food network. The chicken fried steaks did not fail to please me. It was nice warm and yummy. The only problem was that the fried part and my steak did not stick very well. Other than that, great place to come by and eat. I would most likely be back again to eat!

Ordered catered lunch for a work function. The order was already ready to go when I arrived at 11! They loaded it into my car and I was on my way. It was very painless to order such a large order. Food was great! Customer Service was excellent! Thank you Tony!

One of the best Chicken Fried Steak I ever gad and if you haven't eaten in like 2 days then get the biggest Chicken Fried Steak. If not then go with the small because its still a big portion but worth ordering it. Great place to visit and hope to go back soo .

Hickory Hollow serves reasonably priced, well prepared old school chicken fried steak, BBQ, and other classics. The restaurant itself is a place where the blue collar 1970s and early 1980s live on in Houston. My son had BBQ pork ribs, with mashed potatoes, and fried okra. The ribs we smoky and moist, and look to be cooked over wood (as opposed to the probably 90% of Houston "BBQ" that is cooked over a gas fire). They were about as good as it gets. The mashed potatoes seen to be made from scratch. And the okra was hot and crispy on the outside, and moist inside. I had the chicken fried steak, with pintos and green beans. The CFS was perfectly cooked. The coating was crispy, and the steak was not overcooked. The gravy was spot on for texture and flavor. The pintos were properly cooked and spiced. The green beans were the only items that were a bit disappointing. They were pretty well standard BBQ restaurant overcooked or canned green beans. Overall, we were very pleased.
