The restaurant was a disappointment. After hiking Lassen peak, my partner and I were told about this wonderful little gem of a place where the "fish is flown in from Hawaii" and the chef is "amazing and does a phenomenal job".. in my experience, the food was sub-par (after taking 45 minutes) it looked carelessly slapped together in a rush and half of the order did not come yet it showed up on the bill somehow! Server was very nice and the place looked quite classy inside, however... I do not think i will be going back for the "food" ever!

The resort is beautiful, the views are great. Nicest place around for many miles. While other resorts in the area have gone to the dogs this is a welcome addition. But, the restaurant leaves a bit to be desired. First, it's expensive but that's understandable given it's location and what else is available near by...which is essentially nothing. Expensive food generally means it should result in it being well prepared and good quality. This is the rub here. It's a shame that I can only say that the excellent Calamari appetizers, and the coffee were the best part of the meal and, by the way, the only part of the meal that arrived hot. I ordered their boneless rib eye steak with rice pilaf and my wife ordered beef short ribs. Although the meals arrived on a cast iron plate that could easily been heated to keep the meal hot it was apparent the food was put on cold plates or was never hot to begin with. Both meals arrived cold. My rice was exceptionally cold, my steak was cool and poorly seasoned and my wife's short ribs, though tasty, were also cold as were her vegetables. The surprising thing was that the only thing on my plate that was even remotely warm were my vegetables. Service was friendly and prompt. Atmosphere great. Too bad the food didn't meet the same high standards you expect in a dinner for two costing $100+.

Perfectly picaresque setting for a wedding venue. Ellie was amazing to work with! The cabins are also super beautiful.

The cabin and grounds are top notch. Great location with beautiful scenery. Would give 5 stars if wifi worked. With no cellular service, having a reliable wifi is a must to have a means of communicating with family members. I realize it's nice to detach, but if you eventually want to host corporate retreats, your wifi needs to work.
