Hofbrau
"Hofbrau is one of Morro Bay’s oldest family-owned eateries. We’ve been serving mouthwatering meals on the Embarcadero for 50 years. We believe an epic meal is even better while having a great conversation with friends and family and overlooking the bay.You know us for our hand-carved roast beef, your parents probably knew us for it as well. Even your grandparents may have enjoyed a hand-carved roast beef sandwich here. But you don’t want to miss our other French dips, seafood sandwiches, seafood and chips, juicy burgers, or seasonal specials. Grab a draft beer, a glass of wine, or a cupcake along with your meal and watch the sea lions at play in the estuary.Thank you for supporting a local icon. We look forward to seeing you!"

Tried the French dip and fish and calamari with chips, together with their clam chowder and the IPA As expected, their French dip was chocked full of beef flavour. The fish was fresh and fried with a well seasoned breading. Fries were extra crispy but not too oily, and the claim chowder was nice and warm on a cold windy afternoon! The IPA they had on tap had a good mouth feel, strong happy flavour with a citrus note
I tried the french dip and fish and chips. I thought both were great. Au jus was tasty, roast beef was delicious. Fish was moist and batter was crunchy, but in the smaller side. One of my companions said there was too much batter, but I thought it was a good balance. Fries were well seasoned.
Decided to visit the beach again, there’s something about the ocean that really brings peace to me well with all this healthy meditating I got hungry so I decided to check this place out and let me tell y’all this place did not miss it delivered truly did. And the caramel apple was delicious definitely in the top three of my pic well remember it just my opinion but what do I know check it out sometime.
Okay, if you haven’t been to the Hofbrau and you’ve been to Morro Bay, your trip wasn’t complete! The Hofbrau might make the absolute greatest roast beef sandwich you’ve ever had! The Hofbrau is a staple. I’ve been coming to the “Brau” since they were across the street from the Shell Shop many a year ago! Each and every single time we either pass thru or stay in Morro Bay, we make sure to frequent this establishment. Get the roast beef. Get it with Provolone. Add a side of fries and select your favorite beer to go along with your food! You’ll be so glad you did! If you’re not into roast beef but still want to visit, their fish and chips and clam chowder are also outstanding! None the less, please visit them! If my fat kid inside would allow me to physically eat two sandwiches, I would. But I can’t! I do dream of the days I did. Now go get your sandwich!
Stayed in Morro Bay for three days and we ate here twice! It was so good and affordable. I unfortunately didnt get any pics of the first meals we had here but Im attaching photos of the meal we had the second time we visited Morro. We got fish and chips easily shared by two people, onion rings, and fried clam strips for around 30 dollars. The next day we got a fish sandwich and chips as well as a cup of clam chowder for under 20! The sandwich was huge and delicious, the fish was so fresh and yummy, and the chips fries were also crispy and perfect. Clam chowder was amazing and we ate it by the rock. We loved this place and will definitely come again Service was fantastic Thank yall so much!! Edited to add that we came back and ate here AGAIN!! And i managed to get some photos before devouring it lol. This time i got the Morro burger and onion rings again.
Simple menu with solid sandwiches and quality bratwurst. Don't let the line outside to order discourage you from giving them a try.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: No
Absolutely best eats in Morro Bay - has been for decades! Get the fried zucchini best ever ranch dressing dip! & a beef dip + Swiss cheese. You’ll be so glad you did. I crave it constantly. Wonderful people & business. Wish I lived closer. Thanks Hof!
Fresh food , amazing view.Good selection of beer. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu Parking: Plenty of parking close by Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps
Our favorite place! Their French Dips are the best! Always stop in when traveling. The view overlooks the Rock with lots of sea otters and seals. A treasure! Kid-friendliness: They have a "kid's" menu that offered choices. Parking: Ample parking close to patio where we sat with our doggie. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access to patio.
This eatery is a Morro Bay tradition with the delicious roast beef on demand to be made into any desired sandwich. They also have a great selection of fried and fries. I chose the deep fried clams and chips. Really nice looking salads and a fine selection of beers on tap. All the staff were super nice. Not sure how close to closing time we showed up at but we had a nice non-rushed dining experience.
