With a full renovation completed in July 2012! All of our rooms are completely updated with new carpet, wallpaper, refrigerators and microwaves in all guest rooms, flat screen televisions, and new pillow top mattresses!

I choose Holiday Inn Express whenever possible because the facilities are consistently clean, convenient, and affordable. This particular hotel though, was a big disappointment. We arrived and found the motel in a really shady part of town. Parking lot was littered with trash and almost no parking available, but it was late, so maybe everyone was checked in. The lobby is nice, and staff at the desk friendly and helpful. Check in went well. The hallways and the room weren't dirty, but definitely not clean. You know the feeling when carpets are soiled and dirty and don't smell terrible but not pleasant? Also the hallways weren't vacuumed, walls have smudges on them, ceilings and vents need cleaned badly. It was cleaner than a "no tell motel" but had the same vibe. Once inside the room, there was that same feeling of being not clean. There were long black hairs on a pillow on both beds. The sheets looked clean and we prayed they were. Floors really needed shampooing. The vent in the bathroom seemed to blow air into the room as opposed to out because the smell of stale cigarettes was overwhelming when it was on. Also, three towels were left in the room for a family and reservation of 4. I had to go to the front desk every single night for an additional towel. Down at the pool with the kids we noticed no towels for swimmers even though we were told pool towels were provided and asked us to leave pool towels in the bin in the pool room and not to take them to our room. The odor of chlorine was overwhelming. The jets in the hot tub worked about 10 minutes one night and not at all the rest of the time for the rest of our trip. When the jets were working the foam on top of water was thick and there were veins of brown colored foam from dirt or whatever was in the water. When the jets stopped working, we could see the bottom of the hot tub barely through the greenish cloudy water. Breakfast was typical of a HIE. The gals working the breakfast room were hustling and barely keeping up. The dining room was about the size of a hotel room with standing room only for dozens of guests trying to eat. Most of the food was lukewarm at best, but it was insanely busy so that was understandable. After a long day doing tourist stuff downtown we made our way back the the motel with the intention of cleaning up, changing clothes, and then going out to a nice dinner. We got to out room around 5 pm and the housekeepers cart was blocking the door. We opened the door and she was inside with the beds unmade and the room not cleaned. She was kind but clearly behind in her workday. We waited in the hallway and then the lobby for a half hour for her to finish, then abandoned the changing clothes and cleaning up and just went to dinner. By the time we got back the room was ours again. The floors weren't vacuumed during our stay, maybe that's something only some hotels do daily. I left a tip for the housekeeper the first morning, with a thank you note. Later that day we noticed the note pad was missing. There is no bottled water in the facility except 2 bottles in the fridge, which weren't replaced for the rest of our stay. Vending machines offer soda. The only ice machine is near the lobby, so getting ice means taking the elevator to the lobby every time. We stopped at a local grocery store and bought a case of water. This motel was on the verge of being unacceptable enough for us to check out and find another place to stay. We decided to stick it out, but we won't be returning to this particular building. I've never been to a HIE that was this run down. I hope I never see one again. 2 stars are for the staff who were friendly and helpful. Otherwise this rating would be a 1 star.

My hotel chain of preference, you know what to expect, they have the most locations in the world and you know what to expect. For a family of 5 it makes sense since breakfast is included with the stay. This Holiday Inn Express met my expectations, service was good, rooms were clean and furniture was relatively new. DECOR: The usual in this chain, modern design coupled with functionality. Room included microwave oven, mini fridge, medium sized TV with cable service. AMENITIES: Pool, breakfast room, gym (small but there), bathroom next to lobby, super fast Internet for free, everything that is needed for a comfortable stay. SERVICE: Excellent as usual.

A pool, a gym, FREE BREAKFAST? I'm just going to be honest. It's incredible. Had a wonderful view of the Seattle Skyline and a cute little Audi scrapyard out back. Oh, and a hot tub? Truly amazing. If you're looking for a hotel experience, this is the place to get exactly what you pay for.

The hotel is pretty nice, rooms are small but clean, the shower is great, the pool is nice, the breakfast area is big but the selection of breakfast sucks for my family (we are vegan). The staff is extremely friendly. The area is pretty seedy though (there seems to be a lot of crime) and not at all pedestrian friendly but there's decent shopping down the road.

I was at this hotel for a night only it was awesome staff are friendly and helpful.. morning breakfast was awesome. We will come back again and I will recommend my family and friends to this beautiful hotel. Thanks.
