Tried to get in my room to begin with and was locked out on several attempts.. had to get the front desk worker to finally jiggle the handle and work their magic to get it open. And then when I get in the room, which is supposed to be a king suite... it's a double queen room... like what the.. id recommend elsewhere for anyone else. I'll make reservations elsewhere next time..

A decent stay at a location that has friendly service, and a pleasant feel, but suffers from certain consequences of being in an older, retrofitted building. The interior definitely has a charm, and a cozy feel, but it might fall short of the quality one comes to expect from the HIE brand. The rooms and halls had a slightly musky/humid air, as is often the case in older hotels fitted with carpets and aged A/C units. The fitness center was more similar to a sauna as well, with the temperature ranging to about 85 degrees. Again, carpets in these spaces tend not to be a great idea. Due to all this, though i felt comfortable and clean, i always felt a slight bit sweaty, or damp, during my stay. Overall it was a decent experience, though it could definitely be improved.

We had to stay over night because my husband is a patient at Wake Forest. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to take care if their guests. The only problem we had, our toilet was slow to flush. It was nothing major, and we will stay there again!

I enjoyed it very much. Parking for semi's is kind of tight. Breakfast was great. The staff was great.

I've been to a lot of Holiday Inn Expresses and have always been extremely pleased. This hotel, not so much. Wallpaper was peeling, old - hadn't been refreshed in a while. There was no "Do not disturb" card (I made one with the note pad. Breakfast was okay. The staff were very nice and courteous.
