Horizon installed a new furnace in my home 2 years ago when our 60 year old boiler couldn't keep up with the cold so I called them this year when our water heater started leaking. I was able to schedule an estimate/repair the next day. Keith was very professional and worked within our budget to get the best possible equipment installed. It took Keith less than 3 hours from the time he arrived to the time the repair was completed. One thing I would recommend to Horizon to increase customer satisfaction would be to itemize their pricing. I realize charging by the job and not the hour can benefit the customer but I would have preferred to see the breakout of parts, labor, and warranty in order to be confident that I got the best price.

Ken A came to the house and was very informative about my heating situation. I felt confident in his assessment and he also offered preventative services that I will consider for the future. Punctual and polite, definitely a plus when you're stressed about having heat and the temps are barely above freezing! Thanks Ken and Horizon for helping me out!

My review will be two- or three-fold--i.e., primarily I want to go on record as appreciating the numerous maintenance techs that have come to my home. They all have been pleasant, respectful and eager to assess the cause of my system's failure to keep my home warm in winter and cool in summer. I have recorded temps as low as 58 and high as 87! That having been said, I am so frustrated that I cannot be comfortable in my home. A tech was here yesterday for an hour and a half (this being less than a week from my previous request for service). When he left, the system appeared to be attempting an increase in temperature from 61. This a.m. I awoke, cold, and the thermostat was again 61 degrees. I have taken pictures of the thermostat over the years since my Horizon installation. On the positive side, one cold winter, when my house was consistently in the low 60's and on one occasion 58, I strongly insisted that Horizon provide me with a portable heater/air conditioner, which they did...but that shouldn't have been necessary. One other complaint regards scheduling. I have been told on more than one occasion that a tech could not come for three or four days, because they are so busy. That is unacceptable when you are very cold or sweating. I am in my mid 70's and cannot tolerate those extremes. I don't doubt the employees at Horizon cringe when they hear my voice/name. But they are always gracious,. However, their kindness and efforts have yet to fix my problem.

I called Horizon for a heater tune-up a few months ago. They were able to schedule it quickly and at a convenient time for me (a weekday evening). The tech was very professional and quickly found some cracks in my 20 something year old heat exchanger. He even showed me the cracks with the endoscope so I could see them myself. He did a great job explaining the safety hazard that this poses for the home and what it would entail to replace it. I appreciate too that he didn't try to pressure us into replacing the heater altogether simply because one of the heat exchangers was cracked. In the end, I decided to explore replacing the whole system since I didn't feel like the old heater was worth the investment. Horizon was one of the first companies I called to get a quote. I couldn't have been more impressed with their quickness to schedule, their accommodation to my schedule, their promptness to each appointment, their professionalism while in my home, and their attention to detail when they did the estimate and when they actually replaced the system. I had gotten some quotes from some smaller HVAC contractors and honestly, no one could outdo Horizon in their professionalism which is what ultimately gave me the confidence that they could do the best job overall. The 10 year warranty on parts and labor definitely was a big seller too.

My heat stopped working, so I contacted Horizon, as they had installed the furnace and it was still under warranty. I was able to chose the later hours (4:00 pm x 8:00 pm) for the technician. This was great because I did not have to take off work. The technician, William B. arrived in a timely manner, and was very professional and friendly. Within minutes he identified the problem and went right to work. In less than one hour I had a working furnace. William took the time to explain things to me during the entire process. He remained upbeat and cordial considering he had already been working since early morning and still had a couple hours left to work. I would have given five stars, but my experience with the call center was not a positive one. I realize I called on a Sunday, when staff is at a minimum, but I thought I would at least be able to schedule an appointment for the upcoming week, as I did not expect service that day. That did not happen. I was on my cell phone for 20 minutes, as verified by the time on the phone display. I was on hold for a period of time before I spoke with the initial call taker, who took information on the problem I was having. I was then transferred to the scheduler. That is where I was on hold for a long period of time and no one ever picked up. I hung up and then called back. I got a voice mail this time and left a message. I left my name and number, but no one ever called me back. I called again Monday morning, at which time the appointment was made. The service rep on Monday morning told me her records showed someone tried calling me back Sunday; however, there was no message on my voice mail, nor was there a Horizon contact number on my recent incoming call history. I hope that was an honest mistake and not an intentional lie.
