I respect reviews a lot. I read the good and the bad. We just got approved for a dog who will soon be part of our family. Yes I will give 5 stars right now not because we were approved but because I approve of their policy. Yes I would have been disappointed and maybe heartbroken if we had not been approved but my thoughts go to Cassie and what would be best for her. After reading these reviews both good and bad, I realized the negative reviews were selfish and in some instances not merited. I was told up front it was not first come and there were other applications. I respect their choices under the circumstances even the negative responses had given.they truly think of the pets more than an opinion. Yes I would have been disappointed if we didn't get approved but again the pet is the one that matters.

The people who work here are very friendly but I felt like they jumped on us when we walked through the door. We were only interested in looking around, for the time being and I felt their questions were invasive for just walking in. Going to places like this, it's easy to see why people would rather just go buy a dog and avoid the hassle.

I went to the Hotel for Dogs & Cats looking for a companion dog for my dog. There was a large selection of animals, and since I have taken in quite a few strays (cats and dogs), I only wanted to get one dog for my own dog to be able to associate with. The building was clean, and the animals appeared to be well cared for. I was offered the opportunity to meet dogs that I was considering, and the choice that I made was, what I found when I got him home, the best companion for my own dog, and he was also well-behaved with the cats. The workers apparently are volunteers, many appear to be retirees. I have only had satisfaction when I have visited, and it is one of the organized groups that I am pleased to give donations, because I know that the money will be used where it is actually needed. I would give them Gold Stars, because they are dedicated people who work hard to make life better for animals that they hope will as soon as possible, find a Forever Home. Kudos to the volunteers who clean, feed, medicate and interact with these animals to keep them healthy and adoptable.

Went to this place hoping for a new dog for us and our kids. We have been military for the past few years and promised our kids a dog since we were done moving. The people told us to go play with the dogs we liked, told our kids to bond with the dog and see how they played with the dog. We told these people everything up front, that the dog would be ours and would stay with my in-laws during the day so it wouldn't be alone and the dog would eventually just be at our house full time. They let us fill out the application, told us there shouldnt be issues, then I got a call saying they gave the dog to another family because of our "unstable" living arrangements. So because we were military at one point and we have moved a lot, we shouldnt be able to have a dog. Either there was too many people in the home or there wasn't enough. It wasn't good to have it at our apartment because of landlords then it wasn't good to have it at a house that is owned by my in-laws because of the unstable environment. There is no pleasing them, they are rude and don't care if these animals ever get adopted. Told us to go the shelter for better luck or wait until we are "stable". Poorest excuse for an animal rescue I have ever seen.
