Really great spot by Union Square / Greenwich Village. I usually go here for lunch when I want something clean, although I know a lot of folks like coming here for breakfast too. My usual order is a quarter chicken with whole garlic with 2 sides ($14.99) -- I get the grilled pineapple (heaven!) and broccoli. I'm not Paleo or gluten free bit this place is still yummy to me. You can get hot food, deli style food, baked goods and prepared/to-go food. Lots of seating upstairs.

If you ever want a healthy and delicious go-to, Hu Kitchen is it. Breakfast and lunch, dine-in, takeout or delivery - I've done it all here. The staff is friendly and fun, especially the cooking crew in the morning! The atmosphere inside is open and, to me kind of a mix between rustic and modern. But the food, that's honestly what brings me back. The breakfast, whether you want bacon and eggs or a breakfast bowl they can whip it up. Lunch though, so many different and unique options. The meatloaf is really good, but the chicken is unbelievable! Throw some sweet potatoes with cashew cream on the side and you're set for the day! Did I mention yet that the menu is Paleo-friendly?? Only place around that I've been able to find that can cater to the diet and they do so exquisitely =]

I found out about Hu Kitchen after going on the Whole30 diet and having a friend tell me about what he described as an amazing place that sells only paleo friendly foods. Since meal prepping can become repetitive, I jumped at the chance to try this place out and I'm so glad that I did. They have a base menu of things that they offer everyday, and then usually a daily special to offer some variety. Even since finishing my diet, I still eat here all of the time. The food is delicious, filling, and healthy. They can be a bit pricey, but to keep the cost down I never buy a beverage, as the cashier will happily give you a cup for water when you check out. It you do this you can easily stay in the $10-$15 range for a lovely meal. There is an upstairs eating area that I love to sit in and enjoy my food as well. It has ambient lighting and makes you feel removed from the hustle and bustle. A gem in the city if I've ever found one.

Wonderful selection of gluten free foods. Order and pick up a wide variety of health food at the counters and pay at the checkout. Plenty of seating upstairs. Food was tasty and healthy. I recommend Hu Kitchen and look forward to returning. Great place for lunch with friends or alone.

Fantastic tasty, healthy food. We loved it so much we returned several times. The only thing I didn't like was the use of some plastic/disposable cutlery and cups even when specifying that we were dining in.
