Our family of four spent a few nights recently at the "Heaven Sent" cabin in Ruidoso, and our experience was outstanding. The cabin was stocked beyond our expectations: movies, books, coffee, decaf., spices, hot chocolate, deer corn, bird seed, fire wood, starter logs and much more. The deck was amazing, and we used both the gas grill and the gas fire pit. Deer came on several occasions to the feeder that as 10 yards from our bedroom window. The cabin was conveniently located a couple of miles from town but still felt secluded in the woods. Neighboring cabins were easily visible, but it still felt like a private retreat in the woods. The stillness and beauty of the tall pines and clear, dry air was refreshing. The owners work hard to make this a nice retreat to share with others, and we certainly enjoyed our time there.

Be sure you receive alarm code, not just access code! Find out how to use ceiling fan in living room and have the inside info on the upstairs shower.
Understand that there is one incredibly wonderful and spacious master bedroom and one bedroom that kids would enjoy. If there's two couples, make sure you flip for the master! Downstairs has a nice game room with pinball machine! There's also a pool table, but NO light over it to see, so play during the day!
Back upstairs, cooks will enjoy the kitchen!!

EDIT: Yes, any business has operational costs - In other news, water is wet. However, I'm curious how Hummingbird justifies the notion that a property owner should operate at a loss, and find it intriguing how they focus on criticizing others for being fiscally minded. A better response would have been to share positive financial examples of the business, and the benefit that produces for their clients and customers. 

The unwillingness to graciously respond to their shortcomings as a business, or provide any indication of a desire to improve their practices, says volumes. In an attempt to hide their transgressions from the accountability of others, they resort to placing blame on a previous client. While the situation and owner described by them are not familiar to me, it certainly serves as further illustration of Hummingbird's inability to effectively resolve disputes or respond to criticism. They seem to have forgotten, they're the ones with a product to sell in this scenario.

Hopefully the experience with this company is better for the guests than for owners - Severely doubt it though!

This company assumes no liability, charging owners for guest damages to the property, despite the required damage deposit. It wouldn't be surprising to hear that they keep the guest deposit AND charge the owners - The unreasonable folks at Hummingbird are happy to turn a profit on your property (at your expense).

Additionally, they overcharge (10x the actual cost) for basic maintenance supplies, "double dip" by charging exorbitant cleaning fees to the owners and guests, and liberally waste utilities while passing the bill on to the owner. They assume you've enlisted their services only to "maintain" the property (read: swindle owners and fatten the management's wallets), not to receive any income. To add insult to injury, they do not handle owner's personal belongings with care.

If you're considering having Hummingbird Cabins manage your property, I'd strongly advise you look elsewhere - Unless you have more money than sense. These people will nickel and dime you, while laughing all the way to the bank!

I am very disappointed with this company. I will never stay or recommend anyone to stay with the Briggs. Not a stand-up company at all. I was very disappointed in their process. If they are trying to prevent from paying taxes and act as if they allow family and friends to stay at their property try finding a better way for people to send and refunds money other than paypal and mailed check.

We had the most wonderful time in Ruidoso and we loved the cabin we stayed in, Canyon View Cabin. We had the most amazing views and wildlife around us all the time! The cabin was beautiful and cozy and had everything we needed for the perfect stay. The entire team at Hummingbird Cabins does an amazing job making sure their cabins are well kept.  There was not a single issue from the time I booked the property thru the end of our stay.  We were able to enjoy sitting in the hot tub (which was clean and well taken care of)& enjoy star gazing while taking in the mountain air. The staff made sure that we had all the information we 
needed in a timely manner and every person I spoke with when I called in was so professional and kind. I would, HIGHLY, recommend using Hummingbird Cabins to anyone who wants the perfect getaway for their next vacation!!! You can't ask for better service and quality properties!!! Thank you Hummingbird Cabins staff for making our stay so perfect!! We will be calling to book with you all again very soon!!!
