I've been bringing my cars to Jim and his team for close to 20 years. I've never had a bad experience at Hunter automotive. They've always gotten my repairs done quickly and at a fair price. I can't say enough good things about these guys!

Think twice before bringing your vehicle here.  I paid thousands and in the end I was charged even more, lied to, and ignored when it came to my automotive problems.  Their lack of care or ignorance almost left me on the side of the road.  My paint was damaged by them as well.  
They just do not care about you or your property at this place!
No respect for the customer here!
The owner will respond to this and say he does not know me, but he does.

These are the ONLY mechanics in Sioux Falls that I trust. The staff is great and they do an amazing job. Highly recommended!

I LOVE Hunter Automotive!! Jim is THE most honest, well respected, compassionate and knowledgeable mechanic in this whole entire town and I will never take my cars anywhere else! He will always treat you right no matter what and tell you whats wrong with the car upfront and do everything in his ability to fix your issues and even give you recommendations for what to fix ahead of time for any future potential issues. He fixes what you want and he guarantees his work and truly caters to all your needs. Hes been very very flexible with me over the last 8 years and goes above and beyond what is expected!! He'll even try and find you a loner car while hes working on yours. I highly recommend Hunter Automotive!! The professionalism and understanding and honesty alone is Unheard of around here with automotive shops and I trust him and only him to work on my cars. Thank you, thank you for everything you do, Guys!! I appreciate it more than you know! :)

I have only personally used Hunter Auto for mechanical issues a total of two times in the past few years. The first time was during the fall/winter of 2015, I believe. I brought my 02 Mercury Sable in for diagnostics as my vehicle required turning over multiple times before starting, and was also experiencing issues with the electrical accessories, such as the dash lights dimming when the power window buttons were engaged. They ran diagnostics and determined that the battery was faulty. They contacted me to inform me of this issue and did not charge me for this service. I was more than grateful, as funding was short and the new battery cost me a good $70 bucks.

I have taken my vehicle to them today (the second time I've used their service) for two reasons: one, my car was in dire need of new spark plugs/wires, and two, the RPMs drop considerably when the AC/defrost/heat is engaged and the car is in park. This causes the battery light to flash on briefly before the RPMs jump back up and the car runs smooth for another few seconds until the cycle happens again. They changed my spark plugs/wires and attempted to replicate the RPM issue I was experiencing, however found themselves unable to. I am hoping for the best and do not hold them accountable given that they tried. They also drew attention to another issue with my breather hose, which I am thankful for. All in all, I express great faith in their abilities to fix any known issues and their honesty in admitting when an issue is outside of their ability to address.

They maintain great contact with customers regarding identified issues and I know many people personally who have used and advocated their service. Strongly recommend to anyone in the Sioux Falls and surrounding areas looking for a reputable and honest mechanic.
