First time here, cozy atmosphere, comfortable setting. Barmaid Kendall was very nice and knowledgeable about menu and sat at the bar. I came in very hungry having skipped dinner last night. Ordered a Stella, crisp and cold, very nice. Almost went for the steak and eggs but having ordered the Stella decided on a California style hamburger, med. I was the only patron there except for a couple who had finished there meal in the dining area. Then I waited, and waited, and waited. A young woman came in and the cook (which i found out later), came out to talk with her and had a drink. (Nonalcoholic? ) for 10 or 15 minutes. And I waited. Then a few young men came in and they're conversation continued, and I waited. After 40min ish. Of my order being placed I asked barmaid, what's up with the food. She went to the kitchen, returned and said my meal was overcooked and they would do it again. OK I thought. However, seeing the cook talking again with her friends as I waited turned me off. I kindly asked Kendall to cancel my order and give me the bill. $5 Stella, $2 tip. No food, empty stomach, bad dining experience and for $7 or so, I could have bought a T-bone and grilled it myself. I have no doubt Hunter's Lodge can be a fine dining experience. For me, my first time, after being invited by Nelson to come and try it, sadly, was not. I may try again.

This is a review of the restaurant only... A friend and I were visiting the Tuscarora Retreat Center across the river and needed a nearby place for dinner. The retreat center staff recommended a pizza place with mediocre reviews, so we tried Hunter's Lodge instead. I had the filet and my friend had a burger. Both were quite good and reasonably priced, especially in light of the tremendous portions. They were doing more bar than restaurant business, but don't be deterred.

Nice low-key place... Great food great prices and hospitality the owner miss D. Is one of the kindest people I ever met and thank you. If I'm ever in town I will be back... Great experience!

Now this is definitely a place to go if you want to get away for a night or two or even the weekend. There is a place to eat on the premises which is the restaurant and they also have a bar there as well. It's located right on 46 with a well-known Eatery right next store to it. The place is called Humpty juniors which is known and Warren County to have the best burgers. The rooms there are very nice. Has a wooded Hunter like theme to it and you can get HBO among other channels as well the only downside is sometimes the water pressure might suck a little bit and there is no wifi. And the cell phone reception is almost non-existent. But I mean if you are trying to drop off the map and get away from all the hustle and bustle then this is the place to go. I put a four-star review due to the fact that it's very secluded and you can get away from all your troubles there and I would have put 5 and there was WiFi because then at least you could have made phone calls with your cell phone without having to step outside and wave your hand around in the air like a maniac to get service other than that very comfortable beds awesome TV bar in the front restaurant in the front and awesome well-known Eatery to the right definitely recommended.

Food was excellent. Owner came around to see if everything was ok. Great atmosphere and service!
