The is by far the best Italian food in Chattanooga. A hidden treasure just north of the North shore. The high end menu has very reasonably prices. Fresh ingredients make the difference. The sauces are nuanced with richness. Focaccia bread is excellent. This is the place you want to go for date night or bring great friends or out of town guests. The wait staff are most attentive. Ask for Catherine the Great. The bar is well equipped. Make sure you try the red sangria. Amply free parking. This will become a regular destination. Closed on Sundays.

Yes, It Is the Best Italian Food in Chattanooga I am often adverse to eating at an Italian restaurant. I love Italian cuisine, but frankly I can cook it pretty well myself. So to me a great Italian restaurant must have outstanding food quality and freshness, an interesting ambiance, and excellent service. Il Primo hits the mark in all areas. It is the best Italian food that I have had in Chattanooga, by far. Our group of four had cocktails and wine and salads to start. We also had the Baked Feta & Spicy Marinara, Garlic Crostini - it was really good and went so quickly that I did not get a photo. I had the meatballs in Sunday sauce (thier marinara) The meat flavor was amazing. The table also had: Risotto Milanese & Sea Scallops, Mushroom Ravioli, and Tagliatelle with Shrimp, Mussels & Tomato Vodka Sauce. Every dish was superb. I felt that the prices were actually reasonable and the service was really goo.

I went to dinner on a busy Saturday night & the place was hopping with great energy. Being brand new, I requested my server at the bar order my appetizer, main dish, and wine, since I liked everything displayed upon the menu. My appetizer, Fried Ravioli, came out & was quite overcooked, which caused very little flavor to remain, unfortunately. The tagliatelle, shrimp, & mussels that came as my main dish was pretty good. It seemed to be missing something, however. The mussels were amazing & I had wished for an entire bowl of them when I was done. The shrimp was pretty good yet slightly overcooked, and the pasta was ok. The montepulciano wine was quite good & I would order it again. I opted for the strawberry gazpacho soup as a dessert, which turned out to be a gamble that truly paid off, since I wanted another bowl after I had emptied the bowl. In fact, I will stop just for the strawberry gazpacho if I am in the area again soon, but I love strawberry anything. I would definitely go back to try other dishes. The halibut looked quite good, as did the salmon. I am definitely going to go back, but I will take my wife next time.

Best Italian I have found in Chattanooga! Gets very busy on weekends but well worth the wait!! Inside and outside tables. Excellent wine selection as well as mixed drinks. I had the chicken marsala and it was without a doubt the best I have eaten. Sauce was WONDERFUL.

Our waitress was very knowledgeable and very attentive. We needed some dietary accommodations and she easily answered all our question and found items that made our meals were delish. Great happy hour specials too. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere and we had a wonderful girls night. Thanks you
